范龍生知道這是由於適才傾盆驟雨所引發的怒捲山洪，其勢猛烈無比，遂趕緊吸氣飛身，縱向五六丈高的峰壁之上。
當地是處小小狹谷，並非那片猛烈的山洪的主要通道，但支流捲處，威勢依舊嚇人，除了樹倒石飛，狂流澎湃以外，更恰好把薛兆奎的雷殛餘灰，一齊沖掃的乾乾淨淨。
范龍生見狀，不禁呆立峰壁之上，心中好生驚嘆。
驚的是冥冥天威，真不可測，所謂善惡到頭終有報，只爭來早與來遲之語，半點不差，為人立身處世，實應如臨深淵，如履薄冰，戰戰兢兢，事事謹飭，以免一失足成千古恨！
嘆的是拜蠍教主赤髮真人薛兆奎惡根並不太深，但因飼養毒物，傷人太多，終於報應昭彰，慘遭天譴。但驚嘆之餘，范龍生心中，卻也生出一種安慰。
這安慰就是薛兆奎等人身上，證明了天道無窮，則離魂谷中一戰，獨孤策、慕容冰等群俠如何？寰宇九煞等群兇如何？以及三烈陽魔楊叔度、七柔陰魔楚綠珠夫婦，又復如何？正邪興敗，禍福吉凶，冥冥中必然早有定數。
范龍生一面心中感嘆，一面伸手入懷，想把貼肉所藏的金色扁盒取出，看看盒中那隻金鉤蠍王，是否也被天雷所殛？
誰知剛剛摸到金色扁盒，尚未取出衣外，空中忽又雷聲殷然，金蛇連閃。
范龍生適才業已領略天威，如今哪裏還敢把金色扁盒取出？遂仍自貼肉藏好，併合掌低頭，暗作禱祝，也向蒼蒼司命，立了重誓。
他立的誓兒是自己接受薛兆奎的重托，只利用這隻金鉤蠍王，除了惡跡如山的楊叔度、楚綠珠陰陽雙魔，並在替舊友完成心願之後，立即殺蠍，決不貽毒禍世，若有第三人因而遭殃，自己也願當天譴。
空中金蛇似的電光漸斂，懾人心魄的雷鳴漸收，那片怒捲山洪，也因有所疏洩，而漸漸遠去。
等到谷下山洪退盡，晴空明月當頭，范龍生猶在合掌低眉，忽然聽得右側方有人含笑叫道：范兄怎的如此寶相莊嚴？莫非聞雷證道，淡卻凡心，想皈依三寶如來？或是稽首於三清道祖麼？
范龍生心中一片清涼，天機無限的，含笑抬頭，只見發話之人，正是點蒼掌門，流雲仙子謝逸姿、蕭瑛與慕容冰母女，也在她身旁並立。
謝逸姿等是在范龍生右側一片更高山壁之上，如今三人同時飄身縱過，仍由謝逸姿向范龍生含笑說道：范兄，我和蕭大姊及慕容冰小妹，業已搜遍森林，仍未發現五毒谷、百花潭的絲毫蹤跡，不知范兄有無所獲？
范龍生目光微注慕容冰，含笑說道：慕容姑娘仙骨珊珊，福緣極好，哪裏會作瘖啞之人？我已經找著那五毒谷百花潭了。
蕭瑛聞言，狂喜說道：范兄既已尋著地頭，我們趕快前去設法合力取得那金鉤蠍毒，及綠葉紅莖草，為冰兒
范龍生微微一笑，搖手止住蕭瑛話頭，並自懷中取出薛兆奎所贈的那粒蠍毒丹丸及一片綠葉紅莖草。
蕭瑛更復驚喜欲絕地，向范龍生稱謝笑道：范兄真個高明，你不但尋著五毒百花潭，並且居然業已把我們所需之物，弄到手了。
范龍生搖頭苦笑說道：此事只是湊巧，哪裏是我高明。若非那位拜蠍教主，與我在三十年前，便屬好友，恐怕以我們四人之力，仍然無法抵敵得過那隻金鉤蠍王，及其餘十二隻厲害無比的毒物。
話完，便把自己獨探秘洞，被毒蛛吐絲網去，進入五毒谷百花潭巧會故人，暨薛兆奎與門徒毒物，同遭天劫等事，向謝逸姿、蕭瑛、慕容冰等，詳詳細細地，說了一遍。
謝逸姿聽得也自感慨無窮地，搖頭嘆道：怪不得這場雷雨之大，聲勢駭人，原來其中還包括了這樣一樁故事，范兄能夠親身參與，將來說法警世，或許可令為惡未深之輩，知戒回頭，成就不少功德。
范龍生點頭笑道：能夠目睹蒼天威霸，自是難得之事，但一震之威，豈同小可，直到如今，我全身骨節，仍在酸疼，就好像是生了一場大病，或受了一次重傷光景。
蕭瑛目光凝注范龍生手中所托的那粒蠍王毒丹，及綠葉紅莖草，面含安慰笑容，緩緩說道：聽了范兄所說拜蠍教主薛兆奎，雖然有意回頭，仍因孽重遭劫之事，蕭瑛方知蒼蒼彼天，賜我已厚，如今冰兒可望復音，只等找著碧兒，使她們姊妹同歸獨孤策，蕭瑛便心願盡了，誓以餘年，日行一善，聊贖先前罪孽。
慕容冰本自侍立蕭瑛身邊，靜聽他們談話，如今卻柳眉微蹙。把謝逸姿衣袖一扯，伸指在地上寫道：謝姊姊，我母親適才所說的碧兒是誰？
謝逸姿看清字跡，微笑說道：她叫慕容碧，是你的同父異母姊姊，如今不知為何失去蹤跡？
慕容冰雖然口不能言，但聽了謝逸姿這句話兒以後，卻珠淚雙流地，立即滿面慚愧神情，失聲痛哭。
這種突然變化，使范龍生、蕭瑛、謝逸姿等，全自愕然失驚。
莆瑛趕緊把慕容冰摟在懷中，柔聲問道：冰兒，你如此傷心則甚？
慕容冰想起自己在太湖之畔，對姊姊慕容碧，因妒生恨，盡情凌辱，並剃掉她滿頭青絲的那段經過，不禁愧作得深覺無地自容，遂驀然掙脫蕭瑛懷抱，向崖壁上一頭撞去。
蕭瑛萬想不到慕容冰竟會尋短見，加上她功力不弱，以致竟被掙脫，並來不及搶救她，只急得含淚頓足。
尚幸范龍生與謝逸姿旁觀者清，因看出慕容冰神色不對，早作提防，兩人雙雙出手，及時把慕容冰撞向山壁的身形阻住。
蕭瑛跟蹤撲到，把慕容冰緊緊抱在懷中，淚落如泉地，悲聲叫道：冰兒，你有話儘管說出，千萬不要這樣自尋短見，你
