Jo Mimatsu was born in Takeo City, Saga Prefecture, Japan in the thirty-fifth year of Meiji (1902).Graduated from the 51st period of the former Japanese Naval Academy (Sea Officer) and the Naval University, and studied at Princeton University in the United States.After serving as the navigator of the light cruiser Isuzu, he was transferred to the secretary of the Adjutant Ministry of the Navy and Minister of the Navy Mitsumasa Yone.When the war started, he served as an assistant naval attache in Washington. After returning to China on an exchange ship, he was transferred to the base camp as a naval staff officer and instructor of the Naval University.After the war, he devoted himself to the study of war history. His main works include "New Edition Mitsumasa Minai", "Admiral Yoshida Zengo", "Naval University Education", "My Waves", "365 Days Before Pearl Harbor", "Japanese Navy" etc., and there are many translations.
