Chapter 80 predict fate

Night Circus 艾琳.莫根斯坦 404Words 2023-02-05
It was late, and no one was queuing up to find the fortune teller. While the cool evening air outside smelled of caramel and smoke, the tent was warm, smelling of incense, roses, and beeswax. You don't have to wait long in the lobby to enter through beaded drapes. The beads made a rain-like clatter as they collided, and rows of candles stood in the back room. You sit down at the table in the center of the room, and the chair you sit in is surprisingly comfortable. The fortune teller's face was hidden behind a delicate black veil, but when she smiled, the candlelight was reflected in her eyes.

She has no crystal ball and no cards. Only a handful of twinkling silver stars. She scattered the silver stars on the velvet-covered tabletop, interpreting them like mysterious symbols. With eerie clarity she speaks of things she cannot possibly know. She speaks facts you already know, information you may have already guessed, possibilities you never knew. In the undulating candlelight, the stars on the table seemed to be in motion.Move and change before your eyes. Before you leave, the fortuneteller reminds you that the future is definitely not a foregone conclusion that cannot be changed.
