Chapter 51 He Shen lost to Ji Xiaolan

Ji Yun, whose name is Xiaolan, whose name is Chunfan, whose late name is Shi Yun, and whose Taoist name is Taoist Guanyi.Born in June of the second year of Yongzheng (1724) in the Qing Dynasty, and died in February of the tenth year of Jiaqing (1805), he lived through the three dynasties of Yongzheng, Qianlong, and Jiaqing at the age of 82.Because of his keenness and eagerness to learn, he was able to write, and he was taught to be politically successful (the inscription bestowed by Emperor Jiaqing), so he was posthumously named Wenda after his death, and he was known as Duke Wenda in the village. He has read a lot of books all his life, and he claims to read all books. He has read all his life, and he is famous all over the world for his literary talent.Ji Xiaolan is the author of "Yuewei Thatched Cottage Notes" and other books.

Ji Xiaolan was very talented, and he often wrote poems and sang together with Emperor Qianlong, which won the applause of the ministers and left many good stories. Qianlong made many southern tours, and once passed through Mount Tai on the way, he led a group of officials to hold a ceremony of enshrining Zen.Emperor Qianlong led a group of officials to offer sacrifices in Dai Temple. It happened that the Bangzi opera "The Story of the West Chamber" was being performed in front of the temple. Emperor Qianlong always liked to listen to operas. This time, I suddenly had an idea and came up with a wonderful couplet, and said to the officials: I think of a couplet, and you can try to match the second couplet: Dongyue Temple, performing the West Chamber, with a southern accent and a northern tune.

All the ministers applauded, but it was a pity that they couldn't answer for a while, only Ji Xiaolan said slowly: "Chunhefang, sell summer cloth, harvest in autumn and store in winter."The four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter correspond to the four directions, and the content is very appropriate, so Ji Xiaolan was praised by the ministers and Qianlong. He Shen thinks he has literary talents, but he is not as fast as Ji Xiaolan in writing, so he is often dissatisfied with Ji Xiaolan. He Shen and Ji Xiaolan often come and go, confronting each other. Emperor Qianlong liked to travel in the mountains and rivers, and of course it was indispensable to have some fun when he was enshrining Zen.On this day, Qianlong arrived at Xia Garden of Daming Lake in Jinan Prefecture, Shandong Province. This is the first garden in Jinan, and its scenery is quiet and elegant. There is a Lixia Pavilion in the center of Daming Lake, which was built in the Northern Wei Dynasty and has a long history.Qianlong said: In such a beautiful place, there must be poems and songs left by literati and poets of the past dynasties. Does any love know that?He Shen has always been good at currying favor with the emperor, and this time he immediately said, "Your Majesty is wise, poetry and prose are naturally available." It is beautiful and famous all over the world, and many literati and poets have left poems.

Seeing that He Shen couldn't explain why, Qianlong felt a little dissatisfied.Ji Xiaolan said eloquently from the side: Du Fu, the poet saint, once wrote a poem here.Du Fu went to Linyi County to visit his younger brother Du Ying, and happened to meet Li Yong, the prefect of Beihai, when he passed the Lion Roar Hall in Jinan Prefecture.Du Fu became very popular with poetry and wrote a poem on the spot.In his early years, Wei Chen had read "Poetry Collection of Du Gongbu", in which there was "Accompany Li Beihai to Banquet under the Pavilion", the poem said: Dongfan is stationed in Zaogai, and Lingqinghe is in the north.

The pavilion on the right side of the sea is ancient, and there are many famous people in Jinan. Yunshan has flourished, but Yupei is still singing. Xiuzhu is not affected by the heat, and the exchange of air is surging. What will happen to the setting sun? Both the noble and the humble are subject to material servitude, and it is difficult to be a public servant! This should be regarded as one of the more famous poems here. After Ji Xiaolan finished speaking, she was neither overbearing nor humble, and stood quietly aside. When Emperor Qianlong saw that Ji Xiaolan understood such literati stories clearly, he couldn't help but praised: Ji Yun is really well-read and knowledgeable, and you love me, please learn more. After speaking, continue to play.

Seeing that Ji Xiaolan made himself even more ugly, He Shen thought that Ji Xiaolan was deliberately showing off, so he was secretly angry.Ji Xiaolan prides herself on her talent, but she doesn't care about He Shen's thoughts. Once, a group of ministers followed Emperor Qianlong for a day of sightseeing, and Emperor Qianlong was still unsatisfied. He didn't realize that it was dusk, and when he looked up, he saw a white crane flying from the sky.Emperor Qianlong said: "The white crane is an auspicious thing. Which love Qing wrote a poem with the theme of the white crane to cheer it up?"

As soon as Emperor Qianlong's words fell, Ji Xiaolan didn't think about it, and her thoughts flooded in, and she read: "A crane flies in the sky thousands of miles away, and the cinnabar covers the snow and clothes."Unexpectedly, before Ji Xiaolan finished her poem, the white crane had already flown farther and farther, turning into a black spot in the sky at dusk.Seeing that Ji Xiaolan stole his limelight again, He Shen was already jealous.Seeing this scene, he immediately said with bad intentions: Look at that crane, it is clearly a black crane now, how come it is said that snow is the clothes?

Emperor Qianlong knew that He Shen was deliberately embarrassing Ji Xiaolan, but he intended to test Ji Xiaolan's resilience, so he said with great interest: He Shen is right, it is indeed a black crane now.Ji Yun, how do you explain? Ji Xiaolan was not annoyed either: what the emperor said was true, after he finished speaking he glanced at He Shen, and then chanted, because he came back late from looking for food, he strayed into Xi's ink storage pool by mistake.Emperor Qianlong saw that Ji Xiaolan was really smart and thoughtful, and praised him: Ji Yun is worthy of being a great talent in my dynasty. He not only has extensive knowledge, but also has a quick mind and clever poetry.

Heshen's tooth ache with hatred for stealing chickens but not for nothing. In fact, He Shen's "Four Books" and "Five Classics" are all proficient, but in front of Ji Xiaolan, they are insignificant. Emperor Qianlong once visited Zhenjiang on a southern tour, and a group of ministers accompanied him to visit Jiangtian Temple in Jinshan.Climbing to the top of the mountain, Emperor Qianlong climbed up and looked into the distance, feeling relaxed and happy. He Shen on the side knew that Emperor Qianlong wanted to recite poems again, so he said: "Long live God has learned a lot, so why not have fun with the officials and recite couplets together to fight against others!"Just as Qianlong had this intention, he saw him looking at the scenery of the Yangtze River from a distance, and said leisurely: The Yangtze River is like the waves of the inkstone pool.Qianlong deserves to be broad-minded and imperial. He used the Yangtze River as an inkstone. This poem is both poetic and literary.

All the ministers were full of praise, and Emperor Qianlong himself was complacent.Liu Yong on the side continued: Hold up Jiaoshan as an ink mill.Just not far away is Jiaoshan, which is also a famous scenic spot. Surrounded by blue waves, it is like a mainstay flowing in the middle of the Yangtze River. commend.Of course Heshen refused to be left behind. Looking around, he saw a seven-story solitary pagoda in the northeast, so he said: "The seven-story pagoda can be used as a brush." It's just a sentence short of writing, which is really wonderful!Of course, it is the emperor's business to write about the country. Emperor Qianlong saw the fifteenth prince Yongyan, and wanted him to write this last sentence.

Yongyan's talent is no better than Qianlong's Liu Yong, and he didn't know how to deal with it for a while. It happened that Ji Xiaolan was standing by the side, quietly reminding Yongyan, and Yongyan suddenly realized: Qingtian can write more than a few lines.Although this last sentence seems a bit random, as if it came at hand, it is the most majestic. The four poems were embedded with the four treasures of the study, and everyone applauded in unison.Emperor Qianlong felt very comfortable when he got this beautiful sentence today. He Shen finally did not lose the wind this time, and he was naturally in a good mood.He saw a screen wall outside the temple on the top of the mountain, and knew that the emperor liked inscriptions, so he proposed: Congratulations to the emperor for this beautiful sentence.Wouldn't it be better to leave an inscription in the temple, let the world look up at the calligraphy, and benefit the world, wouldn't it be wonderful?Qianlong readily agreed, but he couldn't make up his mind what to write. Ji Xiaolan stepped forward and said: Your Majesty is here today to look at Jiang Tian, it is better to use Jiang Tian to look at the four characters. When Qianlong heard it, the four characters were magnificent and very appropriate, so he readily agreed.Unexpectedly, due to his old age, Qianlong made a typo and wrote the word "Lan" as "Jian", but he didn't find it.Fortunately, Ji Xiaolan reminded Liu Yong loudly: Readers, look at it.Liu Yong understood and replied loudly: Exactly.Sightseeing in the mountains is really a joy in life. Qianlong immediately came to his senses, and immediately wrote another word "Lan". After finishing writing, everyone applauded in unison. The abbot of the temple was very grateful and accepted the inscription. Later, a stone pavilion was specially built on the top of the mountain, and the craftsmen asked the craftsmen to carve the four characters "Jiang Tianyilan" into a stone tablet, and erected it in the pavilion for future generations to watch.Ji Xiaolan is not only talented in literature, but also understands people's minds quite well. She deserves to be the number one talent in the world. Ji Xiaolan is not only highly talented, but also fond of humor, and loves to joke with ministers.Once, Ji Xiaolan chatted with an official who had a tumor on his forehead. Ji Xiaolan said to him: As an official of the court, you should pay attention to your image, and you should seek medical treatment from a doctor as soon as possible. The minister said: To be honest, seeking medical treatment everywhere is ineffective!Ji Xiaolan said with a serious face: I know a doctor who has excellent medical skills and is by no means comparable to ordinary quack doctors. If you go to seek advice with good manners, you will be able to successfully get rid of this disease. The minister hurriedly thanked Ji Xiaolan for her concern, and hurried to see her the next day with generous gifts.Unexpectedly, there was a tumor on the doctor's head that was bigger than his own. Only then did the official know that Ji Xiaolan had teased him, so he could only return with a wry smile. Ji Xiaolan is a world-renowned talent, and everyone is eager to pursue his calligraphy.Once, He Shen built a small pavilion and wanted to ask Ji Xiaolan to write an inscription to show off his power. Even a well-known scholar like Ji Xiaolan had to write an inscription for him. Ji Xiaolan didn't want to write to him at first, for fear of tarnishing her reputation, but she didn't want to offend Heshen openly. After wandering around in Heshen's garden for a long time, seeing Heshen triumphant, thinking that the pavilion might have been embezzled for how much money was embezzled to build it, I wanted to feel angry, so I wanted to take the opportunity to tease him. He pretended to walk to the bamboo grove inadvertently, and said to He Shen seriously: There is an article "Xiaoya" in "The Book of Songs", which sings about the palace of Zhou Wang. There is a phrase called "like bamboo buds", "like luxuriant pines", which describes bamboos as verdant and verdant, with dense pines and cypresses. The garden of your mansion is beautiful, why not call this small pavilion a bamboo bud? He Shen also knew that there were these two sentences in the Book of Songs, and felt that these two words were well chosen, and secretly blamed himself for not thinking of these two sentences. These two words fit the artistic conception of the garden, so He Shen readily agreed.Ji Xiaolan wrote the word "Zhubao" seriously, with a full and vigorous writing style. He Shen cheerfully ordered his servants to inlay a gold plaque and hang it on the pavilion. After the construction of Hefu was completed, Emperor Qianlong took the opportunity to visit Heshen's house and invited a group of ministers to accompany him. Heshen felt deeply honored.Emperor Qianlong felt tired when he played in the back garden, so he came to rest in the gazebo. He accidentally saw the word "Zhubu" on the gazebo, so he asked with great interest: "This calligraphy is full and powerful, and the skill is good. Who is the person on the plaque?" Question? He Shen was about to show off, so he hurriedly reported to the emperor: The plaque was made by Ji Xiaolan, and he also named it. In the "Book of Songs", it is like a bamboo bud, like a pine luxuriant, and the scenery here is exactly what it means. Qianlong stared at the plaque carefully for a while, then suddenly laughed, pointed to the plaque and said: Ji Yun is really interesting. The word bamboo bud has a good artistic conception, but it has something new when used here, haha.Take a closer look, what mystery is hidden in it? The accompanying ministers were also well-educated people. Someone had already seen the problem and laughed secretly, but it was difficult to explain it.He Shen was still puzzled, and stood aside in a bit of bewilderment, so he had no choice but to answer: The slave really can't see it.The emperor is very aware of the details, please enlighten me.Emperor Qianlong laughed and said: Ji Yun is scolding you in different ways! These two characters are like idiots, wouldn't it be very interesting! He Shen saw that Ji Xiaolan had scolded him and made him unable to see it, but he was still showing off here. Now it's embarrassing to throw to the emperor. He Shen was angry but couldn't blame Ji Xiaolan, he could only blame himself for not seeing it.However, He Shen took the opportunity to compliment: This is all the emperor's intention, and it just happened to add to the fun of His Majesty's visit to the garden today. It is really a slave's honor to be able to add a little fun to the emperor! In order to make the emperor happy, He Shen did not hesitate to make fun of himself, which is really admirable. After being flattered by Heshen, Qianlong felt like a spring breeze, and said: Ji Yun is talented, and Heshen is magnanimous. It is also a literary story to make jokes with words on weekdays; in the court, one should work together and contribute to the court. He Shen felt that this was a shameful thing after all, so he decided to find an opportunity to take revenge on Ji Yun.He Shen has many followers and has a wide eye, so he quickly found the opportunity. Soon, a major case involving salt in the Huaihe River and Huai River broke out in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, which shocked the government and the public.Ji Xiaolan has a son and daughter in-law Lu Jianzeng, named Baosun, nicknamed Yayushanren, who was the salt transport envoy of Lianghuai at that time.Lu Jianzeng was usually generous and righteous, made friends with scholars, and had many guests; when his friends were in trouble, he often gave generously, and sometimes even embezzled public funds. He Shen secretly found out about this matter, and reported to Qianlong emphatically, saying that Lu Jian had committed a major crime of corruption.Emperor Qianlong was furious and ordered the court to discuss the crime, but the result was that the house was searched and dealt with. He Shen intentionally let Ji Xiaolan hear about Lu Jianzeng's crimes very seriously, Ji Xiaolan couldn't help being anxious: Lu Jianzeng fell into He Shen's hands, there is no guarantee of the end. After much deliberation, Ji Xiaolan had a solution. He found a blank envelope with a little tea in it, sealed it with salted batter; then put it in a refined box, and sent someone to send it to Lu's house in Yangzhou, saying that it was an antique, please ask his relatives Play carefully. After Lu Jianceng received the letter, he was puzzled. He knew that Ji Xiaolan was good at playing word games, so after careful consideration for a while, he finally realized that this meant that the salt case was short-lived and sealed up.Ji Xiaolan used this to report to him, asking him to be prepared.Lu Jianzeng hurriedly transferred some property, and soon the case really happened. In the end, when the imperial court confiscated the family property, due to Lu Jian's preparations in advance, the family property did not lose much. However, Ji Xiaolan only used an empty envelope to report to Lu Jianzeng, so the court naturally had no evidence. He Shen did not give up, he sent people around to investigate, and learned that Ji Xiaolan had sent a letter to Lu Jianzeng before investigating the case, so he insisted that Ji Xiaolan had leaked the news.Qianlong sent an order to search Lu Jianzeng's letters, but found nothing. He Shen was very puzzled and ordered severe torture. Lu Jianzeng refused to admit it, but his grandson Lu Yinen couldn't bear the torture and confessed to Ji Xiaolan.Qianlong was annoyed, and immediately summoned Ji Xiaolan to ask the reason.Ji Xiaolan only said that she didn't reveal a word in advance, please ask the Holy One to check clearly. Qianlong was furious, so Ji Xiaolan had no choice but to state the process of the matter, and kowtowed to plead guilty: Your Majesty manages officials and ministers in accordance with the law, which is reasonable and reasonable. The humble minister has a bad idea, only cares about personal feelings, and deserves what he deserves.Ask the emperor to punish the crime of the humble minister. Although He Shen couldn't compare with Ji Xiaolan in literature, he finally defeated Ji Xiaolan this time. When Lianghuai salt merchants saw that Lu Jianzeng had lost power, they could be said to be overwhelmed by everyone, and they all testified that he was corrupt and extorted bribes; coupled with He Shen's behind-the-scenes instigation, Lu Jianzeng was sentenced to hang, and Ji Xiaolan was also exiled to Urumqi for tipping the news privately , Distributed into the army. Although Ji Xiaolan was dispatched, she was in a good mood. His friends saw him off, and he was still talking and laughing. After He Shen heard about it, he wanted to see Ji Xiaolan make a fool of himself, to see how distraught he was, so he came uninvited.Everyone knew that Ji Xiaolan had a long journey to go, and it was inevitable that she would be sad on the road, so they only chatted about some gossip, and did not mention the matter of seeing him off.He Shen didn't spare him, and gloated at his misfortune with a glass of wine, writing a poem: water is clear, Without water is also green, It's love to add water to your heart. Instead of looking at the face of the monk, look at the face of the Buddha, Don't look at you but look at me. Anyone with a discerning eye could tell that there was a faint hint of ridicule in the poem, and everyone dared not make a sound, cursing He Shen too badly, and at this moment they were still rubbing salt on Ji Xiaolan's wound. Ji Xiaolan thought, since he has been dispatched to the army anyway, he might as well tease him before leaving. So he smiled and said: I have a problem with my lord, so I have no choice but to show my ugliness. As she said that, Ji Xiaolan chanted with ups and downs: There are streams of water, No water is also Xi, Remove water and add black to make chicken. Wild beasts are as powerful as tigers, A down and out phoenix is not as good as a chicken. When everyone heard that this was satirizing He Shenhu and pretending to be a tiger, using the hand of the emperor to attack Ji Xiaolan, they couldn't help laughing. He Shen was bored and had no choice but to return angrily. After Ji Xiaolan traveled thousands of miles to Urumqi, the local military officers took special care of him and called him a teacher.Hailancha and Zhaohui won the victory of Heishuihe, and Ji Xiaolan also helped to deal with related matters. At the same time, Ji Xiaolan often explained "Four Books" and "Sheng Wu Ji" to the generals, and her reputation was extremely high. Without Ji Xiaolan by Qianlong's side, no one can get along with him like Ji Xiaolan in terms of diction, so he can't help but feel a little disappointed. In addition, Ji Xiaolan has been an official for so many years, never arrogating power, never forming a party for personal gain, and her writing is good, so I can't bear it.Soon after, the decree was announced to pardon Ji Xiaolan's guilt and order him to return to the capital to take up his post. Seeing that Ji Xiaolan was recalled to the capital by Emperor Qianlong, He Shen knew how important he was in Emperor Qianlong's eyes, so he didn't dare to hit him at will.Emperor Qianlong wanted to compile the "Siku Quanshu", so he reappointed Ji Xiaolan, who was knowledgeable and talented, and arranged for Ji Xiaolan to be the editor of the Imperial Academy.Soon, the compilation of "Siku Quanshu" officially started, Ji Xiaolan became the well-deserved chief editor, and He Shen was appointed as the president of "Siku Quanshu".The two had to start working together. For more than ten years since then, Ji Xiaolan has devoted herself to "Siku Quanshu" and never dared to let go.After the whole book was completed, He Shen looked through it in Wenyuan Pavilion and found some mistakes in the transcription. The reason why He Shen didn't make a move for so many years was because Qianlong gave Ji Xiaolan a historic task, and he didn't dare to punish him casually. Now that "Siku Quanshu" has been finished, he wants to attack this old enemy again. He Shen carefully copied the mistakes in the book one by one, sorted it out and presented it to Qianlong, and said: "Siku Quanshu" was originally intended to reflect the grand grammatical events of the Qing Dynasty. Ji Yun, Lu Xixiong and others deliberately ignored it. Treat it like a child's play, and don't seriously proofread the mistakes in it. Qianlong attached great importance to the "Siku Quanshu", and of course he was dissatisfied when he saw so many mistakes in it.He immediately ordered Ji Xiaolan to lead people to re-examine the "Siku Quanshu" and re-correct the books in Wenyuan Pavilion. Lu Xixiong led people to Shenyang to correct all the books in Wensu Pavilion. All the expenses incurred were paid by themselves. This decision hurt Ji Xiaolan. Among the several people who were punished, Lu Xixiong died of grief and indignation not long after he arrived in Shenyang, thinking that he had completed the book for so many years and had come to such a result. The chief school official, Lu Feichi, was dismissed from all positions, and had to pay for the mounting of all the books in the "Siku Quanshu" at his own expense.Lu Feichi also died of toil soon after.Fortunately, Ji Xiaolan was indifferent, and finally completed the task smoothly. Afterwards, the aged Ji Xiaolan saw that He Shen was favored by Qianlong and saw that the emperor wanted to use him repeatedly, so she became very cautious.Ji Xiaolan knew in her heart that in front of Qianlong, her talents and learning were just a pastime in her spare time, and He Shen was the person Qianlong trusted most, so she could only avoid it temporarily. Yin Zhuangtu, the servant of the Ministry of Rites, offended He Shen and was framed and impeached by He Shen. Ji Xiaolan was about to intercede for him, but Qianlong scolded him severely on the spot.Supervisory censor Cao Xibao and Ji Xiaolan have always been friends. He impeached Heshen's slave Liu Quan and was framed and dismissed. Ji Xiaolan no longer dared to speak up for him. In fact, Ji Xiaolan and Cao Xibao have a very good relationship, but he dared not go against He Shen, so he only wrote a song titled "A Picture of Cao Jianting's Green Waves, Flowers and Mist" to express his ambition: one of Drunk and carrying red sleeves to the spring river, the peach blossoms on the human face shine on both. Celebrities are really romantic, Lan Zhou doesn't wear green screens. second Sprinkle the mind and spoil the trench body, and occasionally pay for the spring in dreams. How to spread peach leaves in Yuefu, only Fu Luoqun moves people. Cao Xibao was not explicitly mentioned in the poem, in order to prevent He Shen from grasping the handle, but secretly expressed his sympathy for Cao. In Emperor Qianlong's view, although Ji Xiaolan was full of economics, he was only a scholar after all, and scholar-type people often lacked the ability to govern the country and should not be entrusted with important tasks. Therefore, neither the military aircraft department with real power nor the honorable cabinet will arrange for Ji Xiaolan to be in it. In the first year of Jiaqing (1796), the cabinet planned to add a bachelor, and Ji Xiaolan was enough in terms of seniority, but the Supreme Emperor bypassed Ji Xiaolan and promoted Dong Gao as a bachelor.Dong Gao was sixteen years younger than Ji Xiaolan, and Jinshi was nine years later than Ji Xiaolan, so Qianlong never reused Ji Xiaolan. Qianlong once commented on Liu Yong, Ji Yun, Peng Yuanrui, and Dong Gao: Liu Yong, Ji Yun, and Peng Yuanrui are all senior, and Yong is ambiguous when things happen. He has been diligent and diligent, surpassing the Dongge University Bachelor, and the Ming Dynasty declared that the three of them would be more ashamed and encouraged. It can be seen that in Qianlong's mind, although Ji Yun was very talented and learned, he was not capable of governing and could only do literature. This was deeply reflected in the Lianghuai Yanyin case. Ji Xiaolan has done two things in the imperial court all her life: one is to preside over the imperial examination, and the other is to edit books. He was the examiner of the provincial examination twice and the civil and military examination six times. Therefore, he had many students and had a great influence among scribes.Ji Xiaolan presided over more book revisions, and successively worked as the editor of Wuyingdian, the editor of Santong Hall, the chief editor of Gongchen Hall, the chief editor of National History Hall, the chief school official of Fanglue Hall, and the chief editor of Siku Quanshu Hall , the chief editor of the excerpts of the heroes who died in the country, the chief officer of the official list, the chief officer of the Eight Banners Tongzhi Museum, the vice president of the Record Hall, the vice president of the Canon Hall, etc. During Ji Xiaolan's compilation of "Siku Quanshu", from the beginning to the end, without a single breath, her hard work is self-evident, but she has benefited a lot.Ji Xiaolan once wrote the poem "Self-inscribed Collation of Siku Shuyan": There are more than 100,000 toothpicks in the school, and the thirsty jade toad is moistened. Historic head white rest laughs at each other, and has read books that have never been seen in the world. After the "Siku Quanshu" was completed, Ji Xiaolan moved to the Minister of Rites and served as a lecturer for the scriptures.Emperor Qianlong gave him special permission to ride horses in the Forbidden City. After Ji Xiaolan was sixty years old, she served five times as the head of the Metropolitan Procuratorate and three times as Minister of Rites. The Minister of Rites is in charge of the etiquette, sacrifices, banquets, tributes and other affairs in the imperial court, and is the leader of education and cultural undertakings. After Jiaqing came to power, He Shen was executed immediately and Ji Xiaolan was reused.Ji Xiaolan immediately went to the emperor to rehabilitate Cao Xibao and Yin Zhuangtu, and was responsible for presiding over the supplementary work of the last part of the "Siku Quanshu", which made this great work more complete. When Emperor Qianlong was alive, Ji Xiaolan had never been a bachelor because of the restrictions of Emperor Qianlong. After He Shen's downfall, Ji Xiaolan still kept her original official position. In the eighth year of Jiaqing (1803), Ji Xiaolan's 80th birthday, Emperor Jiaqing sent congratulations and gifted congratulations. In the first month of the tenth year of Jiaqing (1805), Ji Xiaolan finally received the honor he should have received long ago. He became a bachelor and was awarded the honorary title of Prince and Taibao. However, God was jealous of the virtuous, and Ji Xiaolan passed away only a month later, but in any case, he got the official position and honor he deserved, so he should have no regrets. After Ji Xiaolan's death, Emperor Jiaqing sent officials to his tomb to pay homage to him. Emperor Jiaqing personally wrote an inscription for him. He was sensitive and eager to learn, and he was bestowed with political achievements. This is the greatest compliment to him. , so his posthumous title is Wenda, and his hometown is known as Duke Wenda.
