Does Lingyamen have such beautiful lotus flowers?Beside a pool of blooming lotus, two distinguished guests in scarlet clothes were sitting on the big rock by the pool without grace, away from the crowd, chatting gossip. They are all upstarts in front of the emperor. In Goryeo and in the South China Sea, they are all hot and turbulent figures, but in the officialdom of Bianjing, they are just ordinary middle and lower-level officials. They and the officialdom of Bianjing seem to have always been mutually exclusive. with. This repulsion is almost natural. Here, it is difficult for them to find companions, and few people have a common language with them.Although Da Song has been exploring the sea for more than ten years, the ocean is still not the focus of Da Song. There is only a distant foreign land, a place of exile. And their achievements did not receive the respect they deserved, and they were secretly called Yi officials by Bianjing officials.

have. The water lilies in Ling Yamen are not inferior to the lotus in Qionglin Garden. But the best lotus in the world should be in Hangzhou.Xue Yi answered absent-mindedly.Today, he fantasized about finding a chance to talk to the emperor and state his plans face to face, but above the Nine Layers, the world is just a short distance away, and the distance between the emperor and him is really too far away.He couldn't help but feel a burst of frustration. He finally met Wen Yanbo, and it took a lot of effort to make Wen Yanbo a little bit interested in his new idea of sea ships and naval forces. Unexpectedly, Wen Yanbo suddenly fell ill .Various rumors indicated that Wen Yanbo had not been in the secret courtyard for long.Originally, he had also hoped that Shi Yue would enter the center again, or he would take the next best thing, hoping that Tang Kang would get out of this catastrophe and return to take charge of the Coastal Control Division. However, from all kinds of rumors, what he can guess is that even if Tang Kang saves himself from danger, it will be difficult for him to stay in the center. Over the years, the only thing Xue Yi learned from Bianjing officialdom is that the rumors of Bianjing It often reveals the truth of the matter better than the official documents of the Zhengshitang.

Qin Guan stared at the lotus in the pond for a long time, he didn't seem to pay much attention to Xue Yi's answer, but was lost in thought. After a long while, he suddenly said without thinking: There are two different arguments in Koryo. One kind of argument says that the imperial court allows them to go to sea with too few merchant ships; Don't let a lot of labor go to the deep mountains to cut good trees, which is a waste of national power short-sighted.Xue Yi replied calmly. Qin Guan ignored Xue Yi's comments and continued: I was thinking, to solve Korea's troubles, perhaps we should fully allow their merchant ships to share our routes and trade, so that Korea's dependence on Da Song will be deeper and longer

Don't you think about those sea merchants in the south if you don't travel less?A voice sounded behind the two.The two quickly got up and turned around, and said with a smile: Why is Cai Yuanchang so elusive? Cai Jing sat between the two with a smile, and said: I think you are the ones who are elusive and have come to hide in this place. Ye Zuqia gathered a group of people to recite poems and compose Fu there. I really didn't have much interest in poetry, so I hid here with Shixian.Qin Guan sat down with a smile. But Xue Yi said with a smile: Shaoyou is a well-known talent in Shimen, he is afraid that I will be a martial artist, so he saves my life.He also said: Yuan Chang knows me, and if I have half of Yuan Chang's ability, I won't hide here.

Qin Guan knew that Xue Yi meant that Cai Jing was good at dancing, so he smiled immediately, changed the subject, and asked: What happened to Mrs. Wen? Cai Jing smiled, looked around and saw that there was no one else, Fang whispered: I was pushed out by that one from Dutang.I heard that Duke Wen got sick from anger after returning home with that face saint yesterday. It was rumored in the palace that the emperor was bored and that the secret courtyard was about to change owners.I can see that within a few days, Mr. Wen will ask himself to go out. Xue Yi was even more disinterested when he heard it, and couldn't help but sighed. But Cai Jing said with a smile: If Xue Hou really wants to make a career, you have to go through the Lu family, the Ma family, and the Han family.

That's all.Xue Yi shook his head, and said: I am a military officer, and I am running around the door of the government, so it is inconvenient to spread the word. Cai Jing smiled, said no more, turned to Qin Guan, and asked: Is what the talented man said seriously? After much deliberation, I have no other good solution.Qin Guan nodded and said: In the short term, it is a loss, but in the long run, it is a gain.Encouraging Goryeo to go to sea, I, Da Song, really grasped Goryeo's lifeline. Cai Jing was silent for a while, and said in a low voice: If this strategy is adopted, it will make the situation worse. How could the maritime merchants of the Song Dynasty agree? You can know that the imperial court's navy is actually supported by these sea merchants. Moreover, these people are not small in the southeast, so they should not be underestimated.

If I can use my strategy, let the Koreans share a piece of the pie, so what's the harm?Xue Yi shook his head and said, Yuan Chang and Shao You have seen the treasurer of Baoyun Zhai?If you two listen to what he said, you will know that Song's overseas trade is actually just a starting point.Kick away the stumbling blocks in front of you, and all problems will be easily solved. What does the bachelor say?Cai Jing asked tentatively. He knew that Xue Yi had already visited Shi Yue several times. Xue Yi numbly shook his head and remained silent. Xue Hou waited patiently.Cai Jing comforted, but half of it seemed to be implying something. What the court is concerned about now is, after all, the situation in the southwest. It's a mess of thousands of threads, and if you want to sort it out, there must be a place to start.Things in the southwest are uncertain for a day, and the imperial court will not be able to spare a hand to care about your naval ships and navy.Anyway, the Zhuren Kingdom is also outside the sea area of thousands of miles, and it has no grievances with our Song Dynasty in the past and has no hatred in the present. A few years ago, there were envoys from the Zhuren Kingdom who came to pay tribute. Speaking of this, he paused, and then said : The envoys have already set off this morning, Xiao Yan Wang and Murong Qian are the Deputy Envoys of Yizhou Economic Strategy. The emperor will definitely summon the right one when the time comes, and after asking about the military strategy, he glanced at Xue Yi.

Xue Yi only smiled wryly in his heart, how could he have the ability to make friends with Wang Hou and Murong Qian? Cai Jing chatted with Xue Yi and Qin Guan for a few more words, then took his leave and left.He was very disapproving of Xue Yi and Qin Guan's attitude. The officialdom in Bianjing is indeed very alienated from them, but this is not irreparable.A Khitan native, Tuo Gulie, can still fight fiercely with the scholar-bureaucrats in Bianjing, let alone Xue Yi and Qin Guan, both of whom are famous disciples of Shi Yue's sect?Qin Guan didn't need to say much, he just filled in a small phrase and took a quatrain casually, how could he still have the limelight of Ye Juqia and others?Even Xue Yi can actually write poems, and some of his poems in the South China Sea have been handed down, and they are also quite praised. In the final analysis, the two are still too proud. They are young and successful, and they are both powerful figures outside the region. They think that they are doing important things for the country and the country, and they look down on those romantic officials in Bianjing from the bottom of their hearts. They just wish they could plan state affairs with the ministers of the two governments every day, but completely forget their own identities, which are just ordinary officials of the fifth and sixth ranks. After the new official system, there are as many officials of this level in Bianjing as cattle and sheep.

The so-called center of power, in Cai Jing's view, does not just refer to the two governments and the academy. When you are outside, you must show that you are an official. Whether it is Shi Yue, Sima Guang, Wen Yanbo, or even Lu Huiqing and Feng Jing, they are not people you can fool with virtue, and you have no commendable achievements. Can't get into their eyes.If you want to get ahead, you can of course bribe your ministers and relatives to ask for entrustment. Zhibaodan participates in politics, as well as Lu Huiqing and Feng Jing. There are no gaps, but Cai Jing is a very shrewd person. He knows that doing so is not worth it. There is no need to mention the censors of Shizhong and Yushitai. With this method of promotion, Shi Yue, Sima Guang, and Wen Yanbo are tantamount to a death sentence. If his political ambitions are only limited to the fifth and sixth ranks, it is all right, but if he really wants to make a difference, as long as these people can still exert political influence, it is very unwise.

If you want to be promoted, you must find out what your boss likes and do what you like. The princes of the two governments value political achievements, so make some achievements to show them. However, this alone is not enough. The trees are beautiful in the forest, and the wind will urge them.If the relationship between peers is not good, there will be no scholastic praise, and only virtue cannot be reused, but if there is no praise from Qing Yi, it will also become a major flaw in official career. The princes of the two governments look at your political achievements, but the scholar-bureaucrats in Bianjing will not be like an examiner, deciding his likes and dislikes based on your political achievements.

You have to blend in carefully and show your other talents in order to be appreciated by them.Poems and songs, piano, chess, calligraphy and painting, even tasting food, telling jokes, and presenting Kabuki to each other. Only in this way can you become a member of the Bianjing scholar-bureaucrats, not an alternative to them.Unless you, like Shi Yue, have the opportunity to be appreciated by the emperor from the very beginning, and firmly occupy a place in the emperor's heart with your own talents; or, like Wang Anshi, spend decades of hard work to continuously accumulate your own moral reputation and political capital. However, Shi Yue's romantic relationship is not something that everyone can meet; moreover, before Shi Yue obtained the corresponding status, he still made friends with servants, and had a heated fight with Feng Jing, Wang Anli and others; Without Han Wei speaking well of him in front of the emperor every day, Wang Anshi might not have the opportunity to proclaim his majesty. So Cai Jing has his own strategy.Today is different from the past. In the early years of Xining, the emperor worked hard to govern, and there were no ministers he knew and trusted. That's why Wang Anshi, Lu Huiqing, Shi Yue and others rose up.But today, the emperor is no longer the immature emperor of the past. He has already mastered the manipulation of the court and ministers. It is almost impossible to gain the emperor's trust, suddenly get to the big position, and copy the legends of Wang, Lu, and Shi. The emperor remained the most powerful person in determining the fate of officials. But in the seventeenth year of Xining, unless you are Han Zhongyan, and your father who passed away was Han Qi, a veteran and important minister of Dingce and Dingce, otherwise, it is better not to have unrealistic fantasies for a Taifu Temple Chancellor. It is the princes of the two governments and the seemingly insignificant mid-level and low-level officials around him who decide their own fate. Cai Jing tried his best to create a good image. The Stone Party is the foundation of his standing, so needless to say, even overseas officials like Qin Guan, Xue Yi, and Zeng Bu, he always maintains a good relationship with them, and treats himself as his own in front of them, occasionally Will also be kind to help them.Besides the Stone Party, he also tried his best to keep in touch with the old party and the new party, and maintained a good relationship. As long as he did not openly enter and leave Lu Huiqing's mansion to flirt, even if Chen Yuanfeng stood in front of him, he would still be able to call each other brothers. In addition, he often went to Baishuitan College, made friends with all famous scholars, and occasionally sponsored some poor scholars. Among the powers that can influence the government and the opposition (mainly officials and newspapers), Baishuitan College is undoubtedly the most important one of. In short, a good reputation must not be ignored. He greeted everyone with a gentle and friendly smile on his lips. Not all officials in Beijing are eligible to participate in this grand banquet in Qionglin Garden. In other words, in today's Qionglin Garden, an inadvertent arrogance may be a difficult enemy under the tree. This is a mistake that Cai Jing is absolutely unwilling to make. As he was walking, suddenly, from the road on the left, two people were talking in low voices. Why is Dayin's case so unusual? Unknown to Brother Shu, this case involves Xiangfu Order Cai Jing was startled, he had already recognized that Brother Shu was the famous Shu Quan from Yushitai. As for the word Dayin, in Bianjing, apart from Su Song of Kaifeng Mansion, no other person would be called that.Xiangfu County is the first big county affiliated to Kaifeng Prefecture. At the foot of the emperor, it can be called the number one county in the world. Xiangfu Ling is not comparable to ordinary county magistrates. The case the two men mentioned sounds like a big deal.He immediately paid attention, stepped lightly, and dodged behind a bush, but he heard Shu Quan say again: Jiang An?The monk is also related to Jiang An? It is also common for these monks and Taoists to go in and out of the gates of the powerful. They have committed crimes, which one will save them from bringing out a few dignitaries? The voice was getting closer and closer, and Cai Jing carefully identified the voice, always feeling very familiar. It is vaguely either from Yushitai or from Dali Temple, but I can't remember who it is. Since Su Zirong took office in Kaifeng, he claimed to strictly enforce the law. He said that the important place of the capital must be governed by Zhuhou Huiwen (Note: the meaning of the prison judge in Qin Dynasty). The words are so grand and grand, I thought another Baogong was about to be produced.Shu Yu said sarcastically: Unexpectedly, with just a mere auspicious talisman order, he would ignore the national law.Released the monk easily Jiang An is a fellow villager of Deputy Han Shu. A Han Chiguo can give Jiang some face and let a monk go.It's not hard to imagine that Chen Shiru's case would not be resolved if he procrastinated. While the two were talking, they turned to the north.Cai Jing waited until the two of them were far away, then came out from the hiding place and stared blankly for a while. He has already seen the back of another person. This gentleman is the same year as Cai Que, and now he is a judge in Kaifeng Mansion.Shu Yu wanted to deal with Su Song, of course there was a reason.Lu Huiqing once thought about buying Su Song. He once deliberately let people know that Su Song is a senior from his hometown, and if he is willing to pay a visit to him, he can be in power. These words would naturally reach Su Song's ears, but Su Song just laughed and did not answer, and did not sell Lu Huiqing's account. In addition, Su Song is the Kaifeng government, and he has offended many dignitaries because of his impartiality in law enforcement. Shu Yu is a well-known censor in the new party, so it is not surprising that he wants to use the opportunity to impeach him.But the judge of the Kaifeng Mansion was also well-known, why he wanted to frame Su Song, but he didn't want to understand for a while.Naturally, Cai Jing didn't know that what this gentleman wanted to deal with was not Su Song, but Chen Shiru Cai Que's father Cai Huangshang, who used to be a subordinate of Chen Shiru's father Chen Zhizhong. As a result, the Cai family and the Chen family forged a feud.Su Song has been reluctant to sentence Chen Shiru and his wife to death, naturally he has his concerns, but he will inevitably offend other people. Cai Jing walked and thought about it heavily. On the surface, it seemed that this matter had nothing to do with him, but his intuition told him that it was not that simple.Don't mind your own business. While Cai Jing warned himself in his heart, he was also uneasy. Yuan Chang, be polite. Cai Jing was only thinking about his own thoughts, he didn't expect the person in front of him, so he hurriedly looked up, only to see that it was Lu Dalin, the Prime Minister of the Imperial College. He hastily returned the salute and said with a smile: Uncle Yu, you're being polite. On the one hand, I secretly wondered in my heart. At that time, the old party figures were not monolithic. In the history of another time and space, because of the great power of the new party, people with different political ideals and beliefs had to unite together under the red banner of Sima Guang, the opposition party. But in fact, there is a conflict between the Shu Party represented by Su Shi, the Luo Party represented by Ercheng, and the Shuo Party, which is the most powerful and numerous, mainly composed of Sima Guang's disciples.Generally speaking, the Luo Party of Ercheng is the closest to the new party's ideas. They also advocated a thorough reform of the government. Therefore, Cheng Hao worked with Wang Anshi at the beginning, but he couldn't accept Wang Anshi's way of doing things and parted ways. .But when Sima Guang came to power, and Da Cheng had passed away at that time, Cheng Yi still openly opposed the move of completely abolishing the new law.Later, Cheng Yi was the first to reflect on himself, thinking that the old party should also be responsible for the disaster of party struggle. The basic positions of the Shu Party and the Shuo Party were closer to those of the Shi Party, and they both advocated gradual improvement. But relatively speaking, Su Shi is more idealistic, while Shuodang attaches great importance to historical experience and has a strong spirit of hard work. At this time, history has changed dramatically. However, the factions in Song Tingzhong became more complicated instead, and even presented an entangled situation where there is me in you and you in me.In the old party, the so-called Shu Party no longer existed. The political forces of this faction, headed by Ersu, had been subtly merged into the Shiyue faction. As for the so-called Los Party, because Ercheng is rooted in Baishuitan College to train students, it has an indistinct relationship with the New, Old, and Stone Parties. And the old party in the true sense, that is, the Shuo party, because it does have similarities with the Shi party in terms of political ideas, the political alliance between the two has made it one of the three major political forces in the DPRK and China. It is the most powerful faction, but at the same time it is difficult to say exactly how many Shuo parties there are, and its political spectrum is actually shifted between the Shi and the old parties. As for this Lu Dalin, although he is only a small Imperial Chancellor at this time, his status can reflect the complex relationship between political factions in the Xining Dynasty. On the one hand, he is one of the four sons of the Cheng family, a member of the so-called Luo party; on the other hand, he himself is from Shaanxi. The brothers are also recognized as masters of Guan Xue.In the political map of the old party, it is obviously more inclined to the new party. In addition, Lu Dalin was highly appreciated by Sima Guang for his loyalty, and he was quite popular in Baishuitan College for his knowledge, so he was also unclear about many people in the Stone Party. Until this time, Lu Dalin has been regarded as a very promising new political star in Bianjing because of his character, knowledge and talent, as well as his complicated identity and background. Many people believed that it was only a matter of time before Lu Dalin became a new rich man.In Cai Jing's view, it may be because of this reason that Lu Dalin has always been lukewarm towards him. Most of the stone party figures he is close to are the so-called Baishuitan faction, and the West Lake faction like Cai Jing obviously does not belong to the category of his favor. But at this time, Lu Dalin was uncharacteristically, and greeted Cai Jing on his own initiative. And talked to him kindly. This not only made Cai Jing feel a little flattered, but also made him feel very strange. He had no idea what was going on.Such an abnormal situation continued to appear again and again. Along the way, two or three officials who were known as upright in the Shuo Party took the initiative to show themselves goodwill. Cai Jing, who has always been very shrewd and good at analyzing the spectrum of various political forces in Bianjing, was almost dizzy.Lu Dalin's good intentions may be called accidental, but it is impossible for them to appear one after another without a special reason.Faced with such unreasonable kindness, Cai Jing felt uneasy. He doesn't like this situation very much, even if it seems to be a good thing for him.Fortunately, there were still old party officials on the road who still treated him the same way, which made him feel a little relieved. But soon, he thought, in such a situation, could it be the thing that made Lu Dalin and others change their attitude towards him? It was discovered today, in Qionglin Garden, and many people still don't know about it. happened? Thinking of this, a burst of cold sweat broke out on Cai Jing's back. In a palace in Qionglin Garden. Shi Yue stood beside the emperor quietly. He never thought that the emperor's condition would be so serious that he would be unable to support himself even if he stood for a long time. When he was summoned alone, seeing the sick body of the emperor, he knelt in front of the emperor, choked up for a long time and could not speak. He was definitely not without feelings for Zhao Xu.It's just that this kind of emotion is sometimes fatal and must be carefully hidden. The young emperor may need a character who is both a monarch and a minister and a friend, but such a character, as the emperor grows up, cannot be allowed to exist forever. If he doesn't know how to measure, the end can only be extremely miserable. But no matter what, seeing Zhao Xu's expression, Shi Yue couldn't help being moved. He knew Zhao Xu's lifespan in another time and space.History may have changed, but not everything will necessarily change. The emperor's condition made Shi Yue suddenly have an ominous premonition. He choked up, but kowtowed in apology, apologizing for his daughter's behavior to cover up his feelings. Zhao Xu was obviously also a little emotional. But he also doesn't allow himself to show his feelings.Counting from the fourth year of Zhiping, he has been emperor for eighteen years. He is no longer the emperor in Xining's early years. He originally wanted to talk to Shi Yue about his daughter, but in the end, Zhao Xu just comforted Shi Yue in harmony, and then quickly got down to business. He didn't allow himself to waste his energy casually.Especially at this moment. I must stabilize the ally of Korea. For the north! The emperor's voice was very soft, but there was an unquestionable firmness. The little trade with Korea is a petty profit. The imperial court did not lack that little money, and the purpose of opening trade was to deepen its control over Goryeo, not to turn it into an enemy. The emperor paused for a moment and sighed, but Sima Jun really refused to give money to Goryeo's Wen Yanbo. Shi Yue understood what the emperor hadn't said. The memorials brought to me by the Koryo envoys all said the same thing. Obviously, the country of Koryo is also very dangerous because it is related to the throne of the King of Koryo, so naturally they will not tell lies. Now Wang Yun's only hope is the Song Dynasty. Your Majesty, I believe that the court cannot abandon Wang Yun.After pondering for a while, Shi Yue finally spoke. What about trade?Zhao Xu stared at Shi Yue, and continued, Wang Yun would lose his throne sooner or later, did he really want to send troops to secure his throne? At that time, the garrison on Ganghwa Island may not be enough, but the trade cannot be stopped. The minister has a way.Shi Yue spoke carefully, Qin Guan and Xue Yi both visited him before, and he had thought about the situation in Korea for a long time.If the Song Dynasty wanted to maintain its influence on Korea, not only could it not stop trade, but it should also deepen trade.Appropriately allowing Koreans to participate more deeply in overseas trade is a long-term solution. But in the short term, it may be difficult to see results. But if it is a bad example to give money to the Koreans in vain, the minister also opposes this. Shi Yue looked back at the emperor cautiously, and continued: I think it's better to lend a sum of money to Gao Li. borrow?Zhao Xu couldn't help asking back. Shi Yue nodded slightly, and said: Koryo country is short of money, lending money to Koryo can have an immediate effect. But the money cannot be borrowed in vain. The imperial court is now in a state of tight financial condition, and cannot spend a single penny indiscriminately. Suddenly they have to spend a large sum of money to lend to Korea, which will undoubtedly make the imperial court's financial planning worse. Zhao Xu nodded frequently, but Shi Yue said again: I estimated that based on the total trade volume between the country and Korea, the court lent about one million yuan to the country of Korea every year, which would be enough to consolidate Wang Yunzhi's throne. One million coins?Zhao Xu was almost taken aback. Shi Yue nodded without hesitation, and said: One million coins. How much to borrow in the future can be negotiated. For the first loan to be effective, it might as well be more.Although the money was lent to Goryeo, the Goryeo people could not decide how to spend it. Unknowingly, Zhao Xu was attracted by Shi Yue's idea. The one million coins lent by the imperial court to Goryeo must be used by the Goryeo Kingdom to purchase designated products of the Song Dynasty. Therefore, this million yuan is just a number on the books. The imperial court did not have to actually transport one million copper coins to Korea.Shi Yue was afraid that Zhao Xu would not understand, so he explained: For example, if the country of Korea wants to buy 100,000 catties of salt from a certain company in the Song Dynasty, then the people of Korea can only pay 20% or 30% of the copper coins, and the remaining 70% to 80% of the purchase price can be purchased from here. offset against the loan. The firm that sold salt to Korea, took the corresponding voucher, and then went to the court to collect the remaining payment. After the imperial court deducts the commercial tax, it only needs to pay for the goods. In this way, the crisis of Korea can be solved easily. In the final analysis, the money borrowed by the court was still earned by the people of Song Dynasty. Moreover, it is impossible for the Koreans to spend the million-column loan at once. After all, there is a time limit when they trade, and the treasury can be relieved. Zhao Xu couldn't help but lift up his spirits when he heard this. But based on his understanding of Shi Yue, he knew that Shi Yue must have not finished speaking, so he just nodded in approval and continued to listen to Shi Yue's narration. In addition, to borrow money, there must be a mortgage, or a guarantee, and a time limit for repayment must be set. When to repay the money and how much interest will be paid, these can be negotiated between Yousi and the Korean envoy. In short, you might as well relax, but don't make it too easy for them.Shi Yue talked eloquently, and Zhao Xu suddenly felt like a huge trap, sent in front of the Koreans. I don't expect the Koreans to repay the loan on schedule. Borrowing money is easy and difficult to repay, which has been the case since ancient times. The minister thought that it might as well let the Koreans pay off the debt with things. This year the Koreans borrowed one million guan from the imperial court, and next year the imperial court asked them to use grain to repay the debt. In this year, Koryo would have to work hard to grow grain; However, if His Majesty wants to use the heads of Khitan warriors to repay the debt, the Koreans would not dare to refuse the loan. It is like a rope tied around the necks of the Koreans, which can play an unexpected role.Neither should they be allowed to owe too much debt, lest they be forced to turn their backs and run to the Liao people. It can't be too little, too little will have little effect. To get it right, it depends on interest and mortgages. The more they borrow within their ability to repay, the lower the interest, the lower the price for goods, and the less cash they have to pay; the less they borrow, and vice versa. Speaking of this, Zhao Xu had already taken the words, and said with a smile: I don't think there is any need for such trouble. The court is willing to lend them money, so there is no reason to refuse. What he said was the truth. Since the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, there has been almost no such thing as mutual lending between countries. For Wang Yun, the Song Dynasty set such a condition, it was like a meatloaf falling from the sky.He has no reason to refuse. The most important thing is that the court has the ability to collect debts.Shi Yue also said with a smile, being friendly with the imperial court is the worst thing, you can dig the east wall to make up for the west wall, you can borrow money year after year to get by;As long as they borrowed the first sum of money, Koryo was firmly tied to His Majesty's chariot from then on.As long as the imperial court does not push people too far, Koryo will be Song's most reliable ally ever since. Most reliable ally? The emperor couldn't help but burst out laughing, he shook his head with a smile, not denying Shi Yue's suggestion, but sighing.Sima Guang's views on finances are not entirely unreasonable.Minimizing unnecessary expenditures is indeed important for national finances. However, Sima Guang was still too cautious. In addition to merging prefectures and counties, he presided over the elimination of some officials. In addition, more active financial measures such as the reform of the military system to eliminate old and weak soldiers, reorganize the forbidden army, issue banknotes, etc., have little to do with Sima Guang.Sima Guang didn't have much to do when it came to financial issues. From the emperor's point of view, his Minister of the Ministry of Household Affairs only knew blind conservatism and prudence. This is undoubtedly not in tune with Zhao Xu's character. But the emperor also needs Sima Guang. On the one hand, the existence of Sima Guang has extremely important political significance; Run too fast and fall off a cliff. Therefore, the emperor let Sima Guang take control of the household department, but always handed over Taifu Temple to the Shidang and Xindang, who were better at financial management, so as not to let the old party get involved. In the eyes of the emperor, Shi Yue is a person who will never let himself down.He can always find ingenious ways to solve problems that others cannot solve.this point is very important. The ambition in Zhao Xu's chest has not only not been extinguished after 18 years since he took the throne, but has become more and more prosperous. He needs talented ministers, especially in times of need. But Zhao Xu's body didn't match his mood, because of the sudden excitement, he suddenly gasped for breath. His Majesty!A dark cloud floated over Shi Yue's heart, and his voice trembled a little. I'm fine.Zhao Xu forced a smile, said three words, and paused for a while, as if he was gathering strength, Fang then said: "That's the end of today's discussion."Qing go back and think about it carefully, I want to find a teacher for Sixth Brother and Seventh Brother What Shi Yue didn't expect was that from the interview at Qionglin Garden on the 17th to the 20th of July, the emperor had been ill.Although this did not have much impact on the operation of the Song Dynasty government, the political tradition of the Song Dynasty and the spirit of the new official system did not require the emperor to deal with specific general affairs. What the emperor really needed was to control the appointment of senior officials and act as The highest judge; however, the health of the emperor is still related to the stability of the political situation. After deliberation, the prime ministers of the two governments decided to announce the emperor's condition regardless of the fact that envoys from various countries were in Beijing. This seemingly very confident move has actually revealed the worry of the chief executives. They are afraid that the emperor will die suddenly. If the illness is not announced in advance, it may attract a lot of suspicion, which will be very unfavorable to the future court situation.Even though the illnesses announced in the Dibao and Xinyibao had undergone a lot of embellishments, anyone with a little political savvy knew that the emperor was extremely ill. Then, two more rumors began to circulate in Bianjing. The first rumor is that the empress dowager and the emperor are looking for a suitable Confucian teacher for the prince, and the prince, Zhao Gong, will soon go out to study at Zishantang. This rumor spread widely and quickly attracted the attention of many officials. Everyone wanted to become the prince's teacher, which was obviously a shortcut to success. And another rumor, but only a very few officials who are closely related to the banned servants know (most of these officials are closely related to the old party and Baishuitan). It is said that the empress dowager prefers Zishantang to speak directly, and it is Baishuitan College Sang Chongguo, the dean and editor-in-chief of "Bianjing News", and Cheng Yi, the dean of Mingli School of Baishuitan College and a famous Neo-Confucianist.No one knows where the rumor originated, but it is believed to have something to do with the forbidden servant. This news is so precious. If the emperor dies and a prince who is less than ten years old succeeds to the throne, Empress Dowager Gao will obviously listen to the government behind the curtain.Catering to the meaning of the empress dowager is an important way to win the favor of the empress dowager. Moreover, this is not to take any risks. Sang Chongguo and Cheng Yi can be said to be the two most prestigious people among Confucian scholars who have not been officials in the world today. They have high morals and hold the power of Qingyi. Their students are all over the world, and they have huge influence. These two people speak directly as Zishantang, and there will be no doubts about their morality, talent, and qualifications. The reason why they did not immediately write a letter to recommend it was simply because the emperor did not issue an edict clearly. The emperor on the sickbed was particularly fragile in spirit, and seemed to be more prone to anger. During the three days, the only government affairs he dealt with was, despite the objections of Sima Guang and others, he accepted the resignation of Wen Yanbo, who had been complaining about illness, and let Wen Yanbo The identity of Yanboyi Taifu was sentenced to the Daming Mansion, and Han Wei was appointed as the privy envoy. This is not an ordinary appointment. The fragile balance of the power structure has begun to break down with the emperor's serious illness and Wen Yanbo's departure. No one knows what will happen next. At this time, the emperor did not issue an edict to choose a master for the prince, but you wrote the letter without knowing what to do. Isn't this obviously a curse on the emperor to die? But the silence didn't last much longer. On the 21st, Dr. Jin Ziguanglu and Duke Zhao Zhongpin of Jingcheng County, who went to Xijing to offer sacrifices to the Mausoleum of King Pu Anyi, came back to Beijing, and asked the crown prince to go out to study at Zishan Hall, and recommended Buyi Sang Chongguo and Cheng Yi as Zishan Straight talk. Zhao Zhongfan is the son of Zhao Zonghui, the current successor king of the Pu Kingdom and Qing Zongzhengsi, and the cousin of the emperor Zhao Xu.Because of Zhao Zonghui's old age and frailty, Zhao Zhongfan has been ordered to serve as a priest for nearly ten years. Although his seniority in the clan is not very high, he is highly respected.Words carry a lot of weight. After the new official system, Yingzong's brothers took over successively as Minister of Zongzhengsi, but at this time it was Zhao Zhongpin who actually presided over the affairs of Zongzhengsi. Therefore, even the emperor should respect him three points. Zhao Zhongpin's memorial seems to confirm the previous rumors.Without waiting for the emperor's approval, the memorials for recommending Sang and Cheng as Zishantang's straightforward speeches flew into the forbidden area like snowflakes. absurd!absurd!absurd!Listening to Chen Yan relaying the rumors outside, Empress Dowager Gao trembled with anger.Let Sang Chongguo and Cheng Yi be the direct speakers of Zi Shantang?Empress Dowager Gao never thought about it.She may have also heard about Sang Chongguo's deeds, but although Cheng Yi is well-known among scholars, Empress Dowager Gao has only heard about this name. And all of this is actually the Queen Mother's intention! There are more and more no rules in this palace! How audacious to go out and spread rumors! Niang Niang, the old slave thought that there must be a reason for the rumors to come out of nowhere.Someone must have thought of letting Sang and Cheng become the prince's masters, so they came up with this treacherous plan.Chen Yan boldly said that he always felt that there was a huge conspiracy behind this matter. But he didn't dare to speak indiscriminately. You mean Sang Chongguo and Cheng Yi?Empress Dowager Gao reacted quickly. How dare you do such an extraordinary thing if you are not very rich?Even the empress dowager dared to use it. The old slave dare not speak nonsense. Sang Chongguo and Cheng Yi are just two commoners, how can they support so many officials? What ability can move Zhao Zhongpin?Empress Dowager Gao calmed down, and said in a deep thought, if they can get recommended by so many officials, it is not too difficult for the two of them to enter the Zishantang, why bother to make such a bad move?
