Chapter 50 Omniscience

There is an interesting article by the late George.Dr. Abel is a famous American astronomer. This article is a criticism of Western astrology. The article lists the unreliable aspects of astrology. For example, the real twelve constellations in the sky have nothing to do with the twelve constellations of astrology due to the precession difference. The zodiac has slipped westward At about thirty degrees, the Pisces in today's astrology is actually Aquarius in the sky. Secondly, the constellations are not really clusters of stars in space. They are the suns that are extremely far away from each other, and the distances from the earth are also different. Then he listed various places where astrology is unreliable. What he said is not unreasonable. The problem is the reliability of the reason. The tool of scientific research is rationality. Therefore, he rejects anything beyond common sense, but this is forgiven. What disgusted me was his omniscient tone and attitude, he said that the division of the zodiac into twelve houses was purely a random invention of the ancient Babylonians. This is equivalent to saying that the sixty-four hexagrams in "Book of Changes" were built by the ancients when they were bored.Another example is that he said that the constellations, like the zodiac houses, are the result of arbitrary choices.It is this omniscient attitude that makes science like looking at a painting with a microscope, how can you see what is in the painting.
