foreword The story, plot and characters are fabricated, but the background of the material is real.I would like to thank several highly educated fugitives who are now living in Hong Kong, although none of them are named in this book.Many interviews with them gave me first-hand information about the conditions of escape from mainland China, the routes, interesting things along the way, as well as the skills they used and the dangers they experienced.In the interview, what surprised me the most was their joy on the way to escape. They were almost like pilgrims, full of hopes and dreams, and they had their own fun on the way of pilgrimage.I have also been to the border myself to add to this information.I have been to Sha Tau Kok and the edge of Lok Ma Chau, and I have also been to Sparrow Ridge, overlooking the far side of the border.
