Chapter 10 don't act for the limelight

Larry is a truck driver whose lifelong dream is to fly.He joined the Air Force after high school, hoping to become a pilot.Unfortunately, his eyesight was not up to par, so when he got out of the military, he could only watch people fly jet fighters over his backyard, or sit in a lawn chair and fantasize about the joys of flying. One day Larry thought of a way. He went to the local army surplus store and bought a cylinder of helium and forty-five weather balloons.They were not brightly colored balloons, but very durable ones, four feet in diameter when inflated. In his backyard, Larry tied the balloon to a lawn chair with pimps, the other end of which he tied to the bumper of his car, and began to inflate the balloon.Then he packed sandwiches, drinks and an air gun so he could pop some balloons and make his slow descent when he wanted to land.

When the preparations were done, Larry sat in the chair and cut the cord.His plan was to descend slowly back to the ground.But that is not the case.When Larry cut the rope, he didn't ascend slowly, but shot upward like a cannonball; and he didn't just fly to a height of two hundred feet, but climbed all the way up until he stopped at eleven thousand feet! At that height, he didn't dare to burst any balloons rashly, lest he lose his balance and suddenly fall down in mid-air.So he stayed in the air, floating for about fourteen hours, and he had no idea how to get back to the ground.

Finally, Larry floated to the entrance of Los Angeles International Airport.A Franco-American pilot notified the command center that he saw a guy hanging in the air in a chair with an air gun on his lap. The location of Los Angeles International Airport is by the sea, and in the evening, the wind direction on the coast will change.At that point, the Navy immediately dispatched a helicopter to rescue him; but rescuers had difficulty getting to him because the wind from the propellers kept blowing the homemade novelty farther and farther away.Finally they stopped above Larry, dropped a lifeline, and dragged him slowly up.

Once back on the ground, Larry was arrested.When he was handcuffed, a TV news reporter asked him loudly: Sir, why are you doing this?Larry stopped, glared at the man, and said nonchalantly: One cannot sit idle. ★Life is delicious★ Almost everyone knows that one cannot just do nothing, one must have a purpose in life, and action must be taken!But smart people know that goals must be realistic and actions must be positive.You can't ignore the possible adverse consequences for the sake of being in the limelight or having fun for a while.
