Chapter 4 Stone and rough jade

Einstein was once considered an imbecile, and Darwin was once dismissed by his father as a libertine who would bring shame on himself and bring shame on the family. There was an Austrian kid who was so quiet and shy at school that everyone thought he might be a moron. The headmaster of the elementary school even told the father that it would be the same for him to pursue any profession in the future, because he could not succeed in one thing well.He was later forced to leave the school because the school believed that his sitting in the classroom would interfere with the work of other students.

Despite this dismal track record, he later gained admission to a technical university. In college, his grades were average, and after graduation, he found a job as a third-class technician in the patent office.Although his colleagues like him, they don't think he has anything special. Every night, he returns to the poor and simple room maintained by low wages, meditating and writing. What he wrote was called "The Theory of Relativity", and this man was later recognized as one of the rare scientific geniuses of the twentieth century, Einstein. There was a boy from a rich family in England. His family provided the best and most complete education since he was a child, but he was absent-minded and lacked interest. One day, his father predicted angrily: You have never done a serious thing except hunting, walking dogs and catching mice. In the future, you will bring shame on yourself and bring shame on the whole family.

The family's fortunes enabled the mediocre young man to attend Edinburgh University's medical school, but he soon bored and moved to Cambridge to become a clergyman. In Cambridge he discovered his love of natural history, but only in an amateurish way, collecting insects and roaming the countryside. One day, at the suggestion of a professor of botany, he joined a five-year scientific investigation around the world. This voyage opened his eyes and changed his mind greatly. Based on the observations of this voyage, he later put forward the "Theory of Evolution", which shocked the past and the present. Of course, this young man who was idle in the past was Darwin.

The above two examples show us that a person's potential is often unpredictable. Some people look like a stubborn rock, but they are actually rough jade. Before he shines, no one knows whether he is a rock or a stone. Jade!
