Chapter 9 ★7 Do all things in one place

I often spend too much time on routine chores.Every week, I would drive without thinking, all over the streets of the town, to some small shops that I frequent, just to play the role of a loyal customer, not for convenience.I'd drive seven miles to the other side of town to get groceries, drive five miles back down the road to run errands at the town bank, then go to the post office two streets away, and drive another six miles I drive across town to deliver clothes to the dry cleaners, then drive a few miles to the mall to do my shopping, and on top of that, I have to go to places where I can find other things, like: video rental stores , hardware store, bookstore and pet store.Of course, I can't forget to drive a certain way to visit the fish market, bakery and flower stalls.

Now, we are lucky enough to be able to buy everything on one street near our house.Moreover, there are veterinary hospitals and pet trainers, photo studios, pharmacies and at least six restaurants nearby, all within walking distance.In this way, at least an hour of our time is saved, and half of the time is also saved in dealing with chores every week.If there is no shopping mall near where you live that cannot provide you with the necessities of life for a week, then I suggest you, find a shopping mall that is closest to your home, and drive there, even if you have to walk a long way, or even go through half a town , you have to go, the most important thing is that you have to adopt a fixed-point procurement method, and deal with all the things you need to buy and do in one go.

The car, like the washer and dryer (Law 8), is another convenience we often misuse.Because it was so easy for us to hop in the car and drive away.But none of us considered: Is it worth it to spend a lot of extra time doing things we don't want to do, or even things we don't need to do?I don't think we would reflect on it even if we didn't have such a convenient car.
