Chapter 31 Chick's final thoughts

I told you when you first sat down that I didn't expect you to believe me.I have never told this story to anyone, but I would love to.I've been waiting for an opportunity.Now that I'm done, I must say, I'm glad I had this opportunity. I forget a lot of things in my life, but I remember every moment of that day with my mother, who we met and what we talked about.In many ways, it was a very ordinary time; but like she said, you can discover something really important in an ordinary minute.Maybe you think I'm crazy, all this is my own fantasy.But, in the deepest part of my soul, I believe in one thing: my mother, somewhere between this life and the next, gave me one extra day.That was the day I desperately longed for.I will tell you everything she said to me that day.

My mother said so, and I believe so. How is the echo caused?Once she tested me. (After the source of the sound stops, the sound continues to exist. This is called an echo.) When will I hear an echo? (When the environment is very quiet and all sounds are absorbed.) When the surroundings are quiet, I can still hear my mother's echo. I am ashamed now that I ever wanted to end my life.Life is such a precious thing.I made the mistake of not talking to someone to help me out of my despair.You need someone close to you.You need to give others the opportunity to touch your heart. Two years have passed since then.A lot happened during this period: I was hospitalized, I got treatment, I went to places.Let's just say I've been lucky in every way so far.I'm alive.I did not kill.From then on, I never got drunk again although some days did get rough.

I think a lot about that night.I believe my mother saved my life.I also believe that if your parents love you, they will support you, hold you firmly, and hold you firmly when they themselves are in a whirlpool.Sometimes that means you never know how much they've put up with, and you might treat them ruthlessly; but if you knew what situation they were in, you wouldn't treat them that way. There is a story behind everything.How a picture hangs on the wall, how a scar stays on your face.There are stories.The stories are sometimes innocent, sometimes difficult, and heartbreaking to listen to.But behind your own story, there is always your mother's story, because your story begins with her.

So this is my mother's story. Also my story. I want to start over and get along with the people I love in the right way.
