Chapter 12 Henry's story

Now Henry has learned to trust the Father and accept the Son as his personal Saviour.At the age of twelve, he received the Holy Spirit for the first time on a Friday night at True Redemption Church in Harlem, New York. That is the allusion to the ceremony of waiting for the spirit on Pentecost, which is derived from Jesus' command of the disciples to wait in Jerusalem until they receive power from above. According to tradition, this ceremony includes calling the believers up to receive the Holy Spirit.Henry walked up to the podium with the others.When his turn came, he was smeared with olive oil and told to kneel and lie on a piece of newspaper.

That night, Henry ingested the Holy Spirit.But soon he started taking other things too.He starts smoking.He also tried drinking.He was expelled from the sixth grade classroom for fighting a girl.Before long, marijuana was added to the list. When he was a teenager, he once heard his mother chatting with a relative. She said that Henry would be the most promising of her children. He had a good heart and a good temper.The youngest son will one day be a priest. Henry chuckled inwardly: To be a pastor?Do you know how much I smoked this stuff? ①The New Testament "Luke's Gospel" and "Acts" record that Jesus was resurrected and continued to preach for forty days before ascending to heaven.He told his disciples not to leave Jerusalem, saying that the Holy Spirit would come upon them and empower them.Ten days later, on the Pentecost of the Jews, the disciples gathered together and were suddenly filled with the Holy Spirit.
