Chapter 18 Henry's story

Henry became a criminal about the same time I gained religious affirmation as a man. He started by stealing cars.He was in charge while his brother picked the lock.Then he grabbed the purse.Then he walks around the store, mainly in supermarkets.He stole whole packages of pork chops and sausages and hid them in the trousers or shirts he was wearing a few sizes too big. School has long been left behind.While others his age went to a football game or prom, Henry held up an armed robbery.He doesn't let go of old and young, black and white.Brandishing a gun, he ordered the men to hand over cash, wallets, jewelry.

As the years passed, he made many enemies in the streets.In the fall of 1976, a nearby rival tried to frame him in a homicide investigation.The man told the police that Henry was the murderer.But then he said someone else did it. Even so, when the police came to question him, Henry, who was nineteen years old but only finished sixth grade, thought he could join the false accuser and get a reward of five thousand dollars. So instead of saying I didn't know or I wasn't around, he lied about who was there and who did what.He made up one lie after another.He placed himself on the scene without taking part in the action.He thought he was smart.

In fact, he was extremely stupid.After lying for a long time, he ended up only getting himself and another person arrested for murder.Another was tried, convicted, and sentenced to twenty-five years in prison.Henry's lawyer quickly suggested that he plead guilty and reduce his sentence.seven years.Just admit it.
