Chapter 24 it is now 1974
I'm in my church high school. The topic of class is the parting of the Red Sea.I yawned. What else is there to learn?I've heard it a million times.I looked at the girl I liked across the room and wondered how hard it would be to get her attention.
There is a note in the Talmud about this.Teacher says.
Oh well, I thought to myself. When the teacher said this, he meant to translate, and this would be a slow and painful process. But as the story progressed, I started to concentrate.
After the Israelites crossed the Red Sea safely, the Egyptians who pursued them were drowned.Angels of God are coming to celebrate the doom of the enemy.
The note says that God saw this and was very angry. The gist of what he said was: Do not celebrate. Those people are my children too.
Those people are my children too.
How do you guys feel about this? The teacher asked us.
Someone answered. But I know my own opinion.I think, this is the first time I've heard that God loves not only us, but also our enemies.
For many years to come, I will forget that class, the teacher's name, and the girl on the other side of the room. But I will remember this story.
