Chapter 5 Part Five: Mind and Body (Content and Appearance)

Behind Chen Guoqi's mystery 倪匡 4887Words 2023-02-05
What kind of person is Chen Guoqi? (In fact, this question does not need to be asked, but it is still asked. The reasons are as follows.) Once again, the purpose of this book is not to analyze what kind of person Chen Guoqi is, but to explore why he can use supernatural power, and from many examples, what kind of supernatural power can be exerted on him? result.Of course, it is best to explore the ins and outs of this supernatural power. To take a step back, to study Chen Guoqi, we must also focus on his ambitions, ideals, etc. after he possessed this ability. However, since the supernatural power is exerted through him, it is necessary to have a certain degree of understanding of him.

This so-called understanding is just like the simple resume of ordinary people, such as the year and month of birth, who are the parents, where did they come from, and so on. Although I believe that Chen Guoqi's ability to exert supernatural powers does not come from his parents' genetic factors, but has other reasons (this is very important and will be discussed later), but his body is always the same as that of ordinary people. come from parents. For Chen Guoqi's resume, I copied two paragraphs of introductory text. The two paragraphs of text are somewhat repetitive, but it doesn't matter, it can deepen understanding.

The first paragraph is published on the back cover of the book The Boundless Dharma. The content of the book, describing the miracles of various supernatural forces, was published by Ming Chuang Publishing House in August 1987. The author's brief introduction on the back cover is as follows: Chen Guoqi, formerly known as Chen Hanrong, has served in the police force for 19 years and has repeatedly won senior honor awards.Due to Dejia's superb marksmanship and superb martial arts, he was appointed as the bodyguard of the former Hong Kong Governor Dai Linzhi. But his legendary story began after he converted to Buddhism. (Note: The word "refuge" is according to the layout. In Buddhist language, the body and mind return to and lean on it, which is called "refuge". Refuge and return are the same, so it is also called "return". As for the word "refuge", it is not even found in the Chinese dictionary.)

Chen Guoqi is the son of Chen Renzhi, an anti-Japanese general. He loved listening to Buddhist masters since he was young (note: young). Later, his family fell into ruin and he became a policeman. Witnessing many unreasonable things prompted him to make up his mind to open up the Dharma door and save all sentient beings with the help of Dharma.Because of this wish, he was willing to give up his long-term food, retire early, and devote himself to Buddhism to relieve disasters and disasters for good men and women.Later, I got a chance to obtain the superior esoteric method from the true transmission of the esoteric master.

What's interesting about this section of the introduction is that being a policeman has nothing to do with family fortune, and you don't have to have been on the job for nearly twenty years to encounter countless unexplainable strange things.Secondly, although there are different schools of esoteric law, it is difficult to determine which one is superior and which one is inferior. Copying text is relatively boring, so a little comment can be regarded as a gag, and there is no need to be serious. The third paragraph of the introduction: His method of exorcising evil spirits is very effective. The South China Morning Post, Ming Pao Weekly and other newspapers and magazines and radio stations have reported in detail, so he is known as a modern celestial master. He once hosted the TV program for ATV and wrote a column for a magazine. He compiled exorcism cases into a book, saying that believers can use it as a lesson, and those who don't believe it can use it for leisure. He hopes to use these real people to explain the way of karma, promote Buddhism, and guide people to be good.

One questionable sentence in this brief introduction is: Therefore, he has the reputation of a modern celestial master. It is true that some people call Chen Guoqi a modern celestial master, but in my opinion, that is not a reputation, but a kind of disrespect to him. Dharma he practiced. This is a brief introduction to Chen Guoqi in 1987. In 1991, something was different. In February 1991, Mingchuang Publishing House published Chen Guoqi's book: A Brief Explanation of the Diamond Sutra. This book is not a record of exorcising ghosts, but a Buddhist theory. It explains one of the important classics of Buddhism, the Vajra Prajna Paramita Sutra, in simple terms.

I dare not say anything about his book, because Buddhism is profound and profound, and it is beyond the reach of ordinary people to make judgments. Therefore, I will only quote a passage from Master Chen's autobiography: The author does not dare to say what great wisdom is. I would like to use what I know and learn, and I will refer to the translations of major virtues to synthesize the teachings and make a brief explanation of the whole scriptures and each sentence in modern vernacular language. Not long after it was published, this book on Buddhist theory had far-reaching influence, and was adopted by Buddhist colleges for the Buddhist education of Buddhist disciples.

Modern Heavenly Masters are not the only ones who can make such contributions in Buddhist theory; however, this nickname was brought up again in the author's introduction after the book. In the new introduction, after deleting the similarities with the old one, it is as follows: He is a Dharma practitioner who practices Sutra and Tantric together. He has successively received the empowerment of the famous Tibetan Dasheng and Tudengyi Living Buddha as the Vajra Guru of Tantric Buddhism, and he has personally passed on the crown and celestial clothes of the Five Buddhas, which is rarely seen among Chinese Tantric practitioners. of.

The author has written many books on Buddhism. In 1989, he was awarded an honorary bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Arts by John F. Kennedy University in San Francisco, USA. Adding up the two introductions, one can have a general understanding of Chen Guoqi's resume. On the surface, it seems that enough is enough. But, of course, it is not enough, not even superficial, because such a brief introduction has not touched the most important and core issue, which is that he not only promotes Buddhist principles, but also implements Buddhist teachings more practically.Use the boundless Buddha's magic power, which represents the real supernatural power, to deal with the evil supernatural power.

That's what makes him so special. Here, although it is said that his supernatural ability comes from Buddhism and not from his father's inheritance, his body always comes from his father. The fine lineage of his heroic will will affect his spiritual belief in fearlessness and strong will in the future. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce his father, Chen Renzhi. In fact, General Chen Renzhi is indeed a hero worth introducing.Naturally, this digression is kept short and simple. Chen Renzhi (1892-1956), a native of Chenhua Village, Shuikou Town, Xinyi County, Guangdong Province, participated in the anti-Qing revolution with the father of the country, Mr. Sun Yat-sen, when he was young. The Revolutionary Movement of 1911 successfully overthrew the Qing government and established China. Chen Renzhi was a national revolutionary hero at that time, not a warlord, who closely followed the father of the country. After accumulating meritorious service, he was promoted, and later officially promoted to the deputy head of the major of the Tenth Division. The head of the division is the famous soldier General Cai Tingkai.During his military career, how many battles General Chen Renzhi has experienced, how he conquered the battlefield, how he bravely faced the enemy under the hail of bullets, of course, can be written as a biography, but that should not belong to the content of this book.

In 1932, the famous January 28th Incident, the Songhu War, the Japanese army attacked Shanghai, the 19th Route Army led by General Cai Yankai, angrily resisted the Japanese, and General Chen Renzhi also participated in the battle. This battle is a glorious record of the soldiers of Guangdong Province. The elders in Shanghai still love to talk about the heroic battles of the Cantonese-speaking 19th Route Army. In 1933, Chen Renzhi served as the deputy commander of the 9th Division of the 19th Route Army, and later in 1939, as the deputy commander of the 7th Guerrilla Zone. From 1941 to 1944, He once served as the magistrate of Qujiang County, Guangdong. There are also records of General Chen Renzhi in modern Chinese history. (see picture) Chen Guoqi was born at that time. (He is ranked fifth, and there are other brothers Yirong, Zhirong, Shirong and a sister Fuhua, three younger brothers Guirong, Zhaorong, Darong and a younger sister Bihong.) In one or two hundred words, it briefly described Chen Renzhi's life as a soldier and horse, which seemed too simple; moreover, the introduction in a journal style was also very boring. Yes, any person's life, no matter whether he is a big or small person, can be condensed into a brief introduction of about two hundred words. What is introduced is the behavior of this person's body in his life. A person not only has a body, but also a spirit. Ordinary people spend their whole lives focusing on their bodies, without any spiritual achievements.Only outstanding and special people can develop spiritually during their lifetime. Physical life is short, spiritual life is long. Asking what kind of person Chen Guoqi is, if you only ask what kind of person he is, it is meaningless. A brief introduction of two to three hundred words can already be summed up.But to explore his spiritual world, one can enter an incomparably vast world. The body is just the surface, the spirit is the content. Just like a tape that allows people to enjoy beautiful music, what matters is not the tape itself (body, appearance), but the music (spirit, content) recorded on the tape. Just like the great spirit of the 1911 Revolution in the past to overthrow the injustice and feudal Manchu Qing Dynasty. This can also be said to be a genetic factor. Everyone in the world has both mental and physical sides, but most people, both mental and physical, belong to the world.Only a few people, the body belongs to the world, but the spirit has surpassed the world. As for why the spiritual side of a few people can transcend the world and enter the supernatural realm, the reason is quite complicated and profound, but it can also be simplified naturally. Simplified into two categories, I try to use the basic theory of Buddhism to summarize, because in the end, in the end, just look behind the mystery of Guru Chen Guoqi, and the reason why Guru Chen has supernatural abilities is that his spiritual aspect surpasses the norms of the world. Domains are all derived from Buddhism, so it is more appropriate to use the basic theory of Buddhism to look at the problem. Naturally, if other people are also derived from Buddhism and have supernatural abilities, this classification method can also be applied. But if some people have supernatural abilities not derived from Buddhism, it is naturally not applicable. There are quite a few people with supernatural abilities whose source comes from Christianity, so they don't fit into this category.Because this classification, the first one, is related to reincarnation. Reincarnation is a doctrine of Buddhism, not Christianity. Therefore, the supernatural ability derived from Christianity has another explanation. What I said is very complicated and profound refers to this point. Classified according to the basic theory of Buddhism, the spiritual side transcends the world and enters the realm of supernatural powers. There are two possibilities. The first possibility: accrued over many lifetimes. There is a theory of reincarnation in Buddhism, people in this life don't know what they were in the previous life, and they don't know what they were in the previous life. And no matter what the previous life was, or what the previous life was, there must be the existence of the previous life, the previous life, and the previous life. The important thing is not the existence of the previous life, but the existence of the past life, and what has been done in the previous life.Is it a good practice, or an evil deed. To put it more vulgarly, there is a general ledger for a person's behavior in a lifetime, and this life is only one item in the general ledger. There is a very famous little Buddhist story: A life without wind and waves, always rich and prosperous, enjoying all the blessings in the world, as if he had never done anything, and all luck fell from the sky. Therefore, it aroused the jealousy of many people, and they were not angry. They asked the eminent monk for advice, and the eminent monk replied leisurely: You only saw that he did nothing in this life. Did you see that he did something in the last two lives? What? The behavior of the previous life and the previous life has a decisive impact on this life.Practice in this life is also for the next life, until the merits and virtues are perfect. That is to say, the abilities obtained from the cultivation base of many lifetimes will be preserved and will not be canceled with the end of a stage of life. Life is a body, short, and everyone is mortal. Spirit is content, eternal, and can be accumulated for generations. Therefore, the first possibility for a person with supernatural abilities is the accumulation of cultivation for many lifetimes. This kind of situation is especially common among Tantric masters. The reincarnation of the Living Buddha is a well-known example.More examples prove that after reincarnation, or after reincarnation, the situation can be divided into two types. The first one is that one is born with the wisdom of the previous life. There are baby girls born in small towns in the western United States. Tian could speak Tibetan, and it was soon proved that she was the reincarnation of a lama. This kind of situation also happens to ordinary people. Since ordinary people did not have supernatural powers in their previous lives, they will naturally not have supernatural powers after reincarnation, but only retain the memory of the previous life. There are many examples. The second type is that after birth, the spiritual wisdom of the previous life does not immediately recover, nor does it have the supernatural powers of the previous life, and it seems to be the same as ordinary people. But in the process of growing up, gradually develop and restore spiritual wisdom and supernatural powers. The time required for the process is irregular, from being muddled to enlightened, the supernatural powers of the previous life are restored, and even further, it may take ten or eight years, or it may be thirty or fifty years, or it may not appear in this life, bye In one life, it will reappear in the next life. Since this kind of process is completely beyond the scope of human knowledge, it is impossible to tell specific details at all, but it is known in principle that such a situation exists. This is the first possibility. In short, this kind of possibility can be called long-standing wisdom root, long-standing foundation, and what you get now is what you have already had, but it has been slightly changed with the transformation of life forms. The second category may be: the previous life did not accumulate such supernatural powers, but in this life's practice, such achievements have been achieved. Everything has a beginning, even if it is the previous life, and the results obtained in the previous life, the moment the results are achieved, it is naturally the first time to obtain supernatural powers. This kind of situation begins in this life. Using these two types of situations to look at Guru Chen Guoqi, which type does he belong to?We can't draw conclusions from nothing, we need to look at how he started: how he had the first opportunity to practice Buddhism. The process is very interesting, but let's go a little farther and start from the beginning. And in this part, self-confidence clearly explains the relationship between the body (surface) and the spirit (content), and points out which is important and which is the main one; which is secondary and which is the guest. Understanding this relationship will be of great help to understanding the part of the book that discusses Chen Guoqi's various behaviors. In that part, many accusations and criticisms against Chen Guoqi can also be solved easily.Of course, that's something for later. Everything in the world has a causal relationship, and this book is no exception, and there must be a relationship that echoes back and forth.
