Chapter 18 ★Simplification of 16 pet problems

In our second year of simplifying our lives, my husband brought home a puppy.Although we had two cats that weren't too much of a hassle to take care of, either of us never had the opportunity to have a puppy, and we were not at all prepared. Pets won't make your life simple, but there are a few things you can do to make things easier for pet owners: ⑴ Unless you like grooming pets very much, you should choose short-haired pets!Even if you have a short-haired pet, you should spend a few minutes each day brushing your dog or cat.However, with short-haired pets at least, you can reduce the amount of hair shed on the carpet, or the hairballs on the hardwood floor. ⑵If you can, keep your pets indoors.Obviously, this method is relatively easy for people with small pets, but it is troublesome for those with large pets.Pets kept indoors are usually less likely to get into fights with other animals (and if they do, cost a lot of money and time to go to the veterinarian), and they are much less likely to be hit by cars (which is not It's just a matter of cost, it's a matter of life).Furthermore, indoor pets are less of a problem with fleas.
