Journey of Wisdom 朱邦復 15189Words 2023-02-05
business, patent, mourning, exposure When Zero One was established, Dr. Zheng Tianren, Dean of the Faculty of Science at Old Dominio University in Virginia, USA, came to visit me.His lord is an instructor of the Army University, taking advantage of Zheng Tianren's return to China this time, he specially introduced him to me. Zheng Tianren is two years older than me. He is a real computer expert and has a soft spot for Chinese. We hit it off immediately, and the two sides decided to cooperate in technology, and I immediately delivered the original program of the font to him. After Zheng Tianren returned to the United States, he established Dongfang Computer Company, and later signed a contract with the US Information Service to design a Chinese-only information and communication system.

A year later, General Jiang Weiguo left the University of the Three Armed Forces and was transferred to be the commander-in-chief of joint logistics.I was specially summoned to design a Chinese radio transmission system for the military for the joint logistics. The general said to me earnestly: Bangfu, I work harder than anyone else, and I do a good job. Others say that is what I should do!A little poorly done, all kinds of accusations are thrown at each other.I have a very important task for you today, but I have no funds.Think it over for yourself, if you are willing, you might as well do it first, and I can talk to you about the next step after it is done successfully.

Feeling the kindness of General Jiang's knowledge and experience, this kind of thing is naturally incumbent. However, without funds, it is difficult for a clever woman to cook without rice!I thought of Zheng Tianren, and immediately made a long-distance call to see if he had any suggestions. No problem, this is my bank, you send over 10,000 US dollars first, and the delivery can be made in three months. At that time, Lingyi Company had limited financial resources, and all employees received half salary. Ten thousand US dollars was 400,000 Taiwan dollars. Where did the money come from? No way, just borrow it!At that time, Ye Tiaohui had only one house left in Taipei, and his situation was not good, but compared to him, his root hair was thicker than my arm.I bit the bullet and went to him and explained my purpose.

It is reasonable to say that 400,000 yuan is not a problem, but I have no cash, and I rely on notes to transfer around. As he spoke, he flipped through an account book. After a while, he found a note and said to me: This is the closest denomination, but it is only 350,000 yuan, is it enough? It is rare to see people like him who donate money through righteousness and wealth. It's a pity that he can't employ people and ends up like the overlord of Western Chu.Two years later, I went to the United States, the company's finances improved, and Ye Tiaohui had returned to Taichung.Liu Shiwen went to Taichung to repay the money in person, but Shi Tiaohui had already disappeared at a glance, and the situation was not ideal.Speaking of which, others owed him more than tens of millions, and since he failed, this was the only amount that was paid back to him!

Three months later, I went to the United States to pick up the machine as scheduled, but what Zheng Tianren did was just a Chinese terminal. We can't blame him for this matter, we didn't agree on the specifications in advance, just based on one sentence, of course there will be problems. The machine was shipped back, but it could not be used, because the performance was not even comparable to that of Hanka. What about joint logistics tasks?Fortunately, Acer was already quite large at this time, so I had no choice but to ask them for help. I used Acer's system to connect with the military's wireless communication system to complete the Chinese wireless communication.

The scale of the presentation at the Joint Logistics Headquarters this time was not small. Commander-in-Chief Jiang personally presided over it and mobilized many units. The atmosphere that day was eerie and weird. I thought it was just for us, but when I arrived at the venue, I realized that there were a group of technicians I had never met.Not to mention, in the past, when I arrived at the headquarters, the commander-in-chief's aide would accompany me to the commander-in-chief's reception room. Not this time, a major stopped me and told me to go straight to the venue. I never cared about these details, but I already had a premonition in my heart that there must be someone important to grab this business.Like a flash of lightning, my heart lit up, isn't this a good thing? If someone wants to do something for the country, why should I insist on doing something? For this exhibition, I have been devastated. I often have to accompany Acer's technicians to the joint logistics factory, and my company can't take care of it.I'm worrying if it works out, will I be able to let it go?Of course, this is big business, but can I earn General Jiang's money?

A major I knew quietly told me that it was Dr. Wang Jintu who was rushing to serve. He didn't know how to get the news, so he begged Bu Shaofu to speak out. This is a good thing. Of course, General Jiang will not object. He just instructed his subordinates to give speeches and demonstrations first. After we finish the demonstration, if there is still time, they will perform again. The original plan was to start at nine o'clock in the morning. I would give a speech for about one and a half hours, demonstrate on-site operations for half an hour, and the remaining one hour would be practiced freely by personnel of various services.I decided to shorten the time and leave more than an hour for them. If their things are good and their technology is high, they will serve the country.

Based on this concept, we ended the demonstration around 10:30.Dr. Wang came prepared and printed a thick copy of the materials. Every participant was given a copy, but mine was missed.I knew it, and didn't say a word. When Dr. Wang started his lecture, he didn't mention transmission communication at all. Every sentence was aimed at my Cangjie input method. General Jiang understood immediately. He saw that there were no materials on my desk, so he stopped Dr. Wang and asked with a smile: Why is it that only Mr. Zhu has no materials? Wang Jintu was very embarrassed, and quickly said: Report to the commander-in-chief, there are not many materials printed, and it just shines!

Is there a military secret in it? Report to the Commander-in-Chief, there is nothing confidential. General Jiang handed me his own copy and said with a smile: Since there are no military secrets, you can use mine! Dr. Wang is very imaginative. He not only explained it in the materials, but also emphasized it repeatedly at the meeting. He said: The most important thing in military operations is correctness. If there is such an order: the sun rises, and the attack begins. If you use the Cangjie input method, it becomes: the sun rises in the ninth day, and the attack begins. Why did he insist that the Cangjie input method will split Xu characters into nine days?Sun Tzu's Art of War has a saying: Know yourself and know your enemy, and you will be victorious in every battle.I don't know why Dr. Wang is like this, and I don't know that I can't win, so I put up the exemption card.

After this incident, General Jiang's adjutant said that the commander-in-chief wanted me to study Dr. Wang's information first, and then go to the commander to appeal.I said, it is up to the commander-in-chief to decide which method to use. The next day, that adjutant came to our company again and said that the commander-in-chief asked me to apply for a reply to save face, why am I so ungrateful! As soon as I heard it, the old problem reappeared, and I said: Please go back and report it to the commander-in-chief. I am doing research and do not understand business! Who do business with you?As long as you explain it.

There is nothing to explain! What does it mean? explain what?Saying that others are bad, but only mine is good, isn't that the same as a dog eats a dog?So if you talk about other people's good things and mine bad things, then why should I go? How can the commander-in-chief know everything? You should report it to your father! He was also on fire. I am the person concerned, of course I have prejudices. There are more and more Chinese input methods every day, and I have no time to do my own work. How can I have time to study other people's input methods! Calm down afterwards, I was wrong, but I had to.No matter how hard General Jiang works, he never has to worry about survival and life. What about me?I have already lost a lot of money because of this matter, and the company will be closed if I go any further! Acer has paid all the money that should be paid. Although we have some sporadic income, we are already stretched and worry about money every day.I wanted to make some money from patents. At that time, I had three invention patents and five or six more were pending. The industrial level of a country can be seen by looking at the status of patent applications.Because technology depends entirely on creativity, without creativity, there is no technology, and without technology, we have to be reduced to plagiarism and imitation. A few years ago, in order to develop the flash light, I suffered from being wronged by patents. But I think that is just an isolated case, and the whole system cannot be doubted because of a piece of rat shit.In the patent application this time, in addition to the Chinese character generator, there is also a Chinese typewriter and a circuit designed to simulate the human brain, which is fully mixed with non-insulating plastic powder and conductive metal powder, and sealed into one body. There are pins outside the body, and a high-voltage current is applied between the pins, which is short-circuited and turned on under program control. After conduction, it becomes a three-dimensional circuit board, which is a part of the artificial brain. The patent came down, but no one was interested.Everyone thinks that theories are just theories, and whether it can be done or not is not said, what matters is whether it can make money. As for the products that can make money, just copy them at that time, and investing today is a fool! What frustrates me even more is the patent applied for thermal transfer ribbon in 1980.It was applied for in conjunction with another patented thermal transfer Chinese typewriter. I divided it into two parts, one is the electric heating pile type head, and the other is the thermal transfer ribbon. The former was approved once, and the latter was rejected twice. For the first time, the patent office said that the theory was not established and samples were needed.I improvised with strange ink on the plastic wrapping the cigarettes. After it dries, heat the lead type, press it on the paper, and the characters are printed.I sent the sample again, and after a while, it was sent back to me.Reason is: this technology has no practical value!Fantastic! How can the patent office care about the practical value? I didn't complain anymore, not to mention wasting time and money, but still getting angry needlessly, why bother? The purpose of my patent application is to benefit others, but I must prevent others from accusing me of stealing. Then I thought, why not write out my idea and make it public? So I sorted out hundreds of pieces from daily life to high technology to new materials in the future. The draft was named "One Thousand and One Parts", but due to years of wandering, the original manuscript was lost. The patent office accused my invention of being worthless, and five years later, Japan's thermal transfer typewriters became popular, and I don't know how much money they made. But then again, the Japanese should make money, who told their system to be on track? In 1982, a lawyer named Yan Dao (currently a director of the Dong Foundation) approached us on behalf of Mr. Dong Zhiying in Hong Kong and expressed his willingness to invest. We met and discussed several times, and Mr. Dong also came here from Hong Kong. Both of us have the ambition to do some meaningful work for the society, so we hit it off right away. Mr. Dong is not very interested in Chinese computers, but Chinese typewriters, which makes me even more excited. At this time, I already had two patents for Chinese typewriters, one of which used the Cangjie code as an index to control a miniature negative of Chinese characters. After the word that is looking for is located, font is just projected on an electric heating pile typing head that is made by integrated circuit. The other end can use the aforementioned thermal printing method to print characters through the fusible ribbon. In short, with Mr. Dong's investment, I immediately began to design various projects.Such as fonts, projection control, etc., we quickly made samples. For the prefix, a professor from Tsinghua University was entrusted to design and experiment on his behalf. There was a consensus on the theory and design details, and the budget needed was about three to four million yuan. Mr. Dong also agreed. The rest is the thermal transfer, and Mr. Dong also agreed to hire a patent lawyer to apply on his behalf. In my plan, the production cost of each unit in the future will be about US$50 if the monthly production is 10,000 units.Every time the production doubles, the cost can be reduced by an index. Our contract was signed, and Mr. Dong's first payment of about one million yuan was also remitted. The long drought is met with rain, and the company is full of joy.I vaguely felt that I was not like a businessman, and every time I talked about money, I felt full of humiliation. Can you do business without talking about money?Of course, I can find people in business management to host, but what's the difference? My strength is thinking, and my imaginary enemy is people's selfishness. Can I do business without selfishness? Can I sing high-profile things by letting others follow my selfishness on my behalf?Of course, if you want to survive in this society, you can’t live without money, and if you want to develop your own ideas, you can’t live without money. This is a fundamental problem that requires extraordinary ingenuity to solve.I don't have this kind of wisdom today. If I surrender to money first, do I still have the chance to acquire that kind of wisdom? Money itself is innocent, it is only a representative of credit, the problem lies in the way of obtaining money.Make reasonable money? What is reasonable? What standard is reasonable? In the current society, rationality is a kind of free testimony. In my ideal, computers will be responsible for the production and supply of all materials in the future, and everyone will have the same right to live.As for superfluous enjoyment, equality is neither necessary nor possible. This is not only in line with the fairness of human beings as a whole, but also in line with the selfishness of human nature, so it can be called reasonable. At the current stage, if there is a huge sum of money, it can be regarded as a loan from my conscience.First develop this kind of computer system, and then experiment with a small country with few people. If it succeeds, it will naturally be valued by the world. Who will trust my conscience? And who can establish this supreme merit?Of course, it must be an entrepreneur who already has money but is not a miser.I have very high expectations for Mr. Dong. As expected, he is a trustworthy and discerning person. I have absolute confidence in assisting him to become the first person in history. Is it him?Let's wait and see! There must always be someone who pays sincerity first.I thoroughly reviewed the details of the plan. The patent of the ribbon is not a problem. I have a lot of ideas, and I immediately thought of several other feasible solutions. There is no problem with hot typewriters. The professor at Tsinghua University promises that they can do it as soon as the money arrives. Let me ask Yan Dao again, how confident is Mr. Dong?Yan Dao also assured that Mr. Dong is a well-known entrepreneur and would never act rashly, let alone break the contract. The words were still in my ears, and less than a week later, Yan Dao called and said that Mr. Dong called to stop urgently. The reason is that there is a Qian Weichang in the mainland, who promoted his Qian's input method in Hong Kong, known as the standard in mainland China.Mr. Dong was afraid that our products would not be sold in mainland China, so he decided to give up.The previous investment is regarded as a loan, and when we have money, we will donate it to the Confucian Society on his behalf. This incident once again told me that only the most powerful weapon in the world can be obtained by the best.Jiang Ziya is in command at eighty, which means that if the timing is not enough, big things will not happen.I did not lose heart, and continued with the same attitude, looking for blessed and blessed masters in various business circles. All major conglomerates in Taiwan have contacted, including Cathay Pacific and Formosa Plastics.Later, when I went to the United States and returned to the mainland, I read countless people.Today, I can sum it up in one word: people with insufficient ability are powerless, while those with little ability are often self-righteous and complacent with a little achievement, so the Chinese can only achieve small success but not great achievement! At the beginning of the cooperation with Acer, in order to protect Acer's investment, I voluntarily shared the patent rights of vector group characters with it.After the success of Tianlong, Acer believed that the input method should also be applied for, so we applied for the patent of the Cangjie input method. When we were promoting Hanka, one day I suddenly remembered that I once said that culture is owned by the whole people, and the Chinese input method naturally belongs to culture, and I have no right to claim a patent. Therefore, after seeking Acer's consent, we announced in the newspaper that we would abandon the patent of the Cangjie Chinese input method and open it up for free use by all walks of life. Some people said I was stupid, others laughed at me as an idiot, and some said it was because no one used the Cangjie input method at that time.If a person cares too much about other people's opinions, then don't live. After the Cangjie method was accepted by the society, another group of experts came. They thought my invention was unreasonable and tampered with it at will, so that there are more than a dozen versions of the Cangjie input method! Why do people in China think that I, the inventor, are not as good as he, the user? When did blue out of blue? Just because I don't charge, people think I'm not very smart?Because I don't have a rich background, others will abuse my hard work at will? After the copyright legislation, some people advised me to sue these people for violating the personality rights of my works, but I laughed it off.Why bother with these poor people? The success or failure of the Cangjie input method does not depend on one day or two days, nor does it depend on this generation or two generations. The thought of Confucius was only manifested in the world after the Han Dynasty. The truth must stand the test, so what’s the rush? A well-known computer magazine in the United States sent a female reporter to Taiwan for an interview.I don't know who introduced her to Lingyi Company to visit me. When she saw me, she got straight to the point and asked in the first sentence: They told me that you are special, and I want to know what is special about you? special?I don't feel like I'm anything special. At that time, I just announced the abandonment of the patent on Cangjie input. Is this special?Or, is it because I have never studied computers, but broke into this world? It is also possible that what I do is out of tune with my contemporaries, so some people say that I am special. Then why do you make your hard-working invention public for everyone to use?She took out a pen and paper, ready to record. I think this is my responsibility, and Chinese writing technology belongs to all Chinese people. your responsibility?forget it!She is very young and quite beautiful, but the disdainful expression made the muscles on her face askew: Does the government pay your salary? I am Chinese, and it is my responsibility to contribute to our culture! Don't do this with me, our magazines only report facts. What do you want me to say?I have told you the whole truth. Her complexion was even uglier, and trust me it wasn't much better. She was patient and said again: Tell the truth, have you received a subsidy from your government? See for yourself, does my office seem to be subsidized? So, you expect the government to subsidize you? I can't say I didn't expect it, but I don't believe it's possible. You think I'll believe it?Do you think our readers will believe it?This is the new society of technology, you have technology, you should solve your own problems, don't talk to me with meaningless words! The ideology of each other was completely different, she insisted that I had ulterior motives, and in the end, we broke up unhappy. She left in a huff, so to speak, without even bothering with a fine cross gold pen. People often ask me what is the difference between Eastern and Western cultures. This is a big question, but my answer is simple. In addition to the difference in living habits, there are only two differences in the length of development time and the accumulation of ideas. The West is not without ancient civilizations, but the scale of its historical evolution is far less than that of the East.Taking China as an example, for five thousand years, regardless of the changes in the political system, people's lifestyles and cultural development have always focused on family, society, and the country. With the same characters, the gap in pronunciation due to time or geographical differences will not affect their cognition, and a fusion of pluralistic and continuous cumulative cultures can be formed. Therefore, no matter how westernized the Chinese are, they have more or less accepted the baptism of these traditions. In the light of the lessons of history, people know that under the pressure of a large population, the rule of law is insufficient, and that moral norms and self-restraint must be observed.I also learned from real experience that the struggle for survival is difficult, and the only way is to combine the strength of the family and rely on each other. In the end, I realized that compared with the environment, human power is so insignificant. Only by sacrificing the small self can the happiness of the big self be achieved. Of course, this final stage can only be reached by a very small number of sages.Generally speaking, most Chinese people are conservative and contented. From a good point of view, they are tolerant, modest, and stable, but from another point of view, they are ignorant, selfish, and unprogressive. In a gently changing environment, it is like a clear lake, wandering quietly surrounded by mountains. The fish and shrimps in the lake swim freely and survive from generation to generation. At worst, there are big fish like kuns and small shrimps like mud. Chinese civilization is like the surging Yellow River, the environment has changed drastically, and it was not until the Huanghuai Plain that it eased down. There is a kind of carp in the river. After being born, it goes down the river and grows in the gentle waters downstream.Once the carp are mature, they will struggle to go back against the current, and they have to jump up the dragon gate to mate and lay eggs. This kind of fish is strong and good at swimming, born with the characteristic of never surrendering, and endowed with natural talent. The West, on the other hand, is a divided culture, without a central mainstream, with alternating ups and downs, strong and weak, and ups and downs.Due to the fierce competition for survival between countries and between nations, concepts and systems are constantly being adjusted and reformed. Those that could not adapt were ruthlessly eliminated, and those that existed continued to evolve, which finally led to the emergence of the Industrial Revolution. After the Industrial Revolution, material production led to a dramatic change in human needs. The peaceful and peaceful farming way of life was replaced by the fiercely competitive industrial and commercial civilization, and the social virtues of humility and tolerance were eroded by the strategy of conflict and annexation. After a century of pains, the West established the norms of material civilization, while China did not realize that the Yellow River had flooded until the nineteenth century. Our generation happens to be the time when various cultures converge, and the East and the West are in inevitable direct contact. Especially with the advent of the information age, cultural conflicts are even more inevitable.Based on the different types, people will inevitably start to reflect on which culture is superior? How should we choose? From the standpoint of human beings, I don't think there is any one culture superior to another, just like the comparison between races. From the standpoint of evolution, survival and elimination are all based on adaptation, and have nothing to do with the pros and cons of our concepts. Today, if we simply use material conditions to compare, no one can deny that the West is far ahead of the East. But can people be satisfied with material stimulation forever and pursue endless permutations and combinations endlessly? On the other hand, as a result of being rich, can people still maintain their momentum forever and work hard from generation to generation? Based on my understanding of human nature and the resources of the earth, I do not believe this is possible. If people pursue material satisfaction as their goal, even if they consume all the resources in the universe, their sensory stimuli will only be constantly renewed, and their needs will never end. Many wise men in the West have already asked themselves, is the purpose of life to be a material slave? If not, what kind of crazy economic competition will Iyhudi? The question is whether human beings are wise enough to understand themselves. If not, human beings themselves must be victims of ignorance, and it is impossible to know the answer until the end of destruction.Otherwise, at critical moments, human beings will inevitably get some enlightenment and choose their future wisely and carefully. The culture of the East is a long-term record of human experience. It is a pity that now that the material civilization of the West is flourishing, the East is far behind.Just like some descendants of declining nobles, when others are still admiring the brilliance of their family background, these descendants only focus on selling property, and regard the assets accumulated in the past and the essence of cultural relics as waste shoes. Not only did he not know how to cherish it, but he also carried it forward, and especially hated that he was cast into the wrong mother's womb, and he was afraid that it would not be enough to abandon it. What the Chinese people are most proud of today is the so-called May 4th Movement, and the beneficiaries of the May 4th Movement are stealing the temple of the country. They only have Mr. De and Mr. Sai in their eyes, pushing Confucius and Mencius into the Confucian Temple, which is a show every year. They advocate the vernacular, which lowers the quality of people's thinking; compulsory education is enforced, not to mention the characteristics of human nature. As a result, the top talents are hindered and cannot do their best; the bottom talents are not suitable for teaching, and they become problematic youths one by one. Not only that, cultural scholars left over from the May Fourth Movement keep promoting Chinese culture, but looking at some master-level masterpieces, I have not seen anything other than using some Western philosophical classification concepts to reduce Chinese thought to a rigid formula. Any one book, any one person, really explains what the essence of Chinese culture is! I think the so-called essence of Chinese culture refers to the code of conduct of some Chinese scholars before the May 4th Movement, and the central idea held between the lines in their leftover works! I believe there is no objection. In the past, the attitude of Chinese scholars was to live in peace and contentment, and to be resigned; "Book of Changes" as the head of the classic. Among these four categories, we should always be able to see where the center is!Some people would say it is Confucianism, but more specifically it is Huang-Lao thought. This is not to be disputed, because Lao Tzu's thoughts have not reached the time to become popular. Just talking about the Confucian "Book of Changes", how much do scholars today understand? Why Hu Shizhi, Chen Duxiu and other big thinkers can't tell the reason for "Book of Changes"?Are you disdainful of learning? Some people who don't understand, but like to be pretentious: The Book of Changes is a superstition! Is superstition put aside first, even if Chinese culture started from superstition, then superstition is also a part of Chinese culture! How about, just be more straightforward, kill relatives with righteousness, and stop talking about promoting Chinese culture!Otherwise, let’s spend a little time to learn the Book of Changes, and then talk about Chinese culture! The valuable experience of China's predecessors for thousands of years has long been difficult to compete with the West in the minds of today's people. So far, there is no name for Chinese culture, but there is no reality of Chinese culture, which has become a cultural fault! Although I am currently powerless and there are only a dozen people in the company, I decided to let Yang Meifen concentrate on learning Yi and leave other things alone.I myself didn't switch to culture until more than ten years later, when the hard battle of Chinese computers was over and I let go of my responsibilities. In the West, scholars believe that the information age will be dominated by cultural conflicts, but domestic scholars have not yet realized where is Chinese culture? One can only imagine the prestige after the May Fourth Movement! In addition to the dream of the Red Chamber in the West, I began to reflect, and I was about to learn from the past gains and losses as a reference for future cultural development. They turned to the East for help, but found that there was only a piece of cultural ruins standing in front of them, which was nothing but mourning. And in the emerging industrial towns, countless yellow-skinned and black-eyed people in suits and leather shoes are still competing in the red building, worshiping Western civilization with relish. Whether the individual is willing or not, under the influence of the environment, people's thoughts and behaviors cannot be separated from their soil roots.Although modern Chinese want to get rid of the burden of history, their ideology is full of traditional values.Want to welcome and reject the current Western utilitarianism, and hesitate between gains and losses. To take the most obvious example, everyone knows that the Japanese are the most united and the Americans are the most cooperative.why?Japan is an island country with a small land and a large population. There is no other way but to unite and struggle.Americans are all immigrants from all over the world. The past is hard to look back on, and in a brand new environment, opportunities are readily available.Naturally, everyone seeks their own development, attaches importance to self-enjoyment, and only cares about making money and getting rich.Friends do business, as long as they can make money, everyone will go all out, and of course the cooperation is happy. The Chinese are not. Under the shadow of the past, they are terribly poor.I envy the material civilization of the West, and my main purpose is to be in politics and business, and to make a fortune. However, under the pressure of traditional society, reputation must be protected in order to maintain face in front of relatives, friends and clansmen.Even though he has gained both fame and fortune, he still has more to say.Because of inferiority complex and self-esteem, she must grasp the power, enshrine her wife and son, just like a small dynasty, hoping to glorify her ancestors. Even if you emigrate overseas, your race, skin color, and thought habits are different from those of Europeans and Americans, and it is difficult to get rid of.There are no roots to plant, no branches to inhabit, and they have to identify with their own blood and culture.Unfortunately, the national strength is weak, the political system is divided, and there are many parties and factions, each with their own opinions. In the ideological struggle, the national concept has long since disappeared. Although the heart of loyalty and filial piety still exists, it is also in a dilemma. Therefore, modern Chinese people have too many burdens in their own country, and they are divided in their own minds, and it is difficult to agree with each other.Living in a foreign land but still cherishing the hometown, so that both the beginning and the end are incompatible with the local customs and culture. This is a watershed in an era. If we can really realize that Chinese people are Chinese people, we can tolerate each other, throw away the burden in our hearts, regardless of the East, West, China and foreign countries, we can learn from the good and discard the bad. Then we will have tomorrow. In my position, I can only ask myself to sacrifice. If I can't even unify Chinese computers, what cultural and social principles are there to talk about?Thinking about it is worse than doing it, so I invited Chen Desheng from the Telecommunications Bureau and Yang Jianqiao from the Information Policy Association at 2:00 pm on October 29, 1981, at the Minglun Western Restaurant in front of Taiwan TV. , Shi Zhenrong from Acer, Hou Qingxiong from Shentong, Lin Yezeng from Datong, Yan Shiying from Dongyuan, Li Yinsheng from Jingwei, Mr. Zhuang from Shengbao, Chen Xingliang from Wang An, and Wang Jiuhua from Xingmao. There are eleven people including me , the same business plan. I first stated that Chinese computers belong to all Chinese people, and the best method should be used. I am personally willing to offer my method and let everyone evaluate it together.Any ideal method must be the most economical, the highest quality, and acceptable to everyone. If all manufacturers can adopt it uniformly, they will be able to take it to the next level. As for the hardware and application software, they are designed by each manufacturer themselves, striving to expand the market and benefit the society and the country. Chen Desheng and Yang Jianqiao fully supported and spoke generously.Everyone at the scene was moved and expressed their willingness to cooperate. They just need to study in detail and can't act hastily.Yang Jianqiao immediately made a phone call to Li Guoding, chairman of the Information Policy Promotion Association, and Mr. Li expressed his full support. So we decided to set up a planning group, nominated Lin Yezeng from Datong Company as the chairman of the preparatory meeting, and set a time for the second meeting. The results of Yang Jianqiao's contact also received a positive response. The Institute of Information Technology entrusted Dr. Yang Dingyuan, director of the Institute of Electronics of the Industrial Technology Research Institute, to attend the meeting and be responsible for a comprehensive evaluation. The second meeting was at 2 pm on November 4th, and there were slight changes in personnel. Manager Chen from Shengbaolai, Wen Guorong from Xingmao, Lin Rongsheng from Wang An, Manager Ji from Jingwei, and Zhu Houtian from Shentong. I first put forward my plan. I will take out all the technologies such as the Chinese font library, the Chinese system, and the Chinese typewriter. I hope to have a royalty of NT$20 million. If everyone decides to adopt it, the government will contribute half, and the manufacturers will contribute half.I was responsible for developing Chinese glyph generators of various sizes and densities and making them into integrated circuits within half a year. The rest of the products can be completed within one year and supplied to various manufacturers. Yang Dingyuan has been authorized by the government, and he immediately expressed his support. He planned to evaluate the feasibility of the Chinese character generator first, and the heads of the participating manufacturers also agreed unanimously. So I handed over all the technical materials, and the Electronics Research Institute led by Yang Dingyuan made a technical evaluation first, and then decided on the next step. A week later, Yang Jianqiao came to see me.He said that according to Yang Dingyuan's evaluation, my technology is worthless, and he is sure to make a more complete Chinese character library than mine within three months. Dr. Yang is right. Contributing to Chinese is everyone's responsibility. Whoever can do better should do it.So when Yang Jianqiao apologized to me repeatedly, I sincerely hope that Dr. Yang Dingyuan can fulfill his promise. It's a pity that things have changed and stars have changed. Where is Dr. Yang Dingyuan's Chinese system? On December 9th, I received a phone call saying that Mr. Li Guoding was going to meet me on the top floor of the Capital Policy Council. When I arrived, his secretary told me that the meeting only lasted ten minutes, so make good use of it. At that time, Li Guoding was the chairman of the Information Policy Council and the designer of the national science and technology policy. Since he approached me, I guess he must express his support for the Chinese computer plan.I was in great fear, and as soon as I saw him, I waited for his instructions. He was sitting on the sofa leisurely, as if he was waiting for me to speak. After sitting for a while, Li Guoding said: Mr. Zhu, what do you want from me? I didn't look for him!It may be that some well-meaning people wanted me to present my situation to Mr. Li face to face, but I didn't prepare in advance, and I didn't know where to start for a while.Especially if there are only ten minutes, I am afraid that if I make a mistake in one sentence, the opportunity will be missed. Please Mr. Li support the development of Chinese computers. All the experts and scholars told me that computers are advanced technological products, and Chinese is not suitable for them. Computers are high-tech, but the purpose of using computers is to process text and data.It is impossible for all Chinese to know English, and it is impossible to change all the characters into English. Mr. Zhu, to be honest, I don't understand computers, so I have to trust experts and scholars.According to what they told me, as long as you know more than 100 English words, you can use the computer. We listed English as the first foreign language in middle school, so it should not be a problem to learn hundreds of English words. Mr. Li, whoever says that is trying to deceive you!As I talked, I became excited: there is no such thing as knowing more than a hundred English words. Any computer has an operation manual that is hundreds of pages thick. Can you use it if you don’t understand it?In addition, if Chinese materials cannot be put into the computer, what will happen to our Chinese characters and culture in the future? He thought for a while, and said with a sigh of relief: Mr. Zhu, among all the people I have met, you are the only one who has this view.I think you're right, but I'm seventy years old and I'm still busy serving my country. It is impossible for me to learn again, and it is impossible for me to oppose the opinions of ordinary scholars and experts. I can only give you spiritual support and hope you can succeed. Mr. Li Guoding is the only leading figure in the Taiwan government who understands science and technology. Even he is influenced by those experts who are so visionary and only care about holding a golden job. What else can I say? However, this is also a law that has not changed through the ages. If a leader who is willing to serve the country and the people does not get good staff with courage and ability, at best, he can only maintain a small situation. In the same way, as a leader, if you can't outline and grasp the key points, it will be difficult to recognize the truly valuable tasks and talents in today's cumbersome technological era. Life is a laboratory, so why not the universe? As long as we distinguish clearly, there is no difference between the microcosm and the macrocosm. Say it, say it quickly!
